I very very rarely watch any Premier league football so I could well be behind times. I just switched on the West Ham v Brentford game to fill the halftime in the Coventry game and Gary Neville and a female are commenting on this game. What totally surprised me is its the woman who is the main commentator and not Neville who has been on sky for 100 yrs. Is this normal these days sctatchinghead

When you say commentator do you mean describing the events of the game as thery happen, or do you mean passing opinions on the events of the game after they have happened? Neville has always done the latter. The commentator will be a trained sports commentator and as far as I know, there are no ex professional fooballers in that role, they are all pundits.

The wife asked if I wanted to watch the England match, now I can hardly be arsed to watch England play nowadays but with a big smirk on her face the penny dropped. :angry-tappingfoot:

agree and they have done this is tennis for years without any comment. never watch formula 1 but i,d guess if there isn,t one already they,ll find a woman to put her two penneth in. most would do a good job doing it as the ones i know have had years of practise at criticising drivers with or without a driving licence.

No one in our family like driving with the wife in the car…she tenses up pushing imaginary pedals if you get close a car, pumping imaginary brakes. Yet when she drives the car she approaches the drive at speed and does the Highway version of a aircraft carrier deck landing!

funny how cars were not fitted with head restraints when there were few women driving on the road. they might cause less accidents but with many its like riding a kangeroo and one i knew could stall an automatic.
