Have we ever drawn a competitive game 4-4 before? In forty years watching Pools, I can't remember one!!

I am sure that we drew 4-4 away to Peterborough many years ago, late 80s or early 90s I think!!

Correct. 4-4 away to Peterborough in Div 4 but it was Feb 27 1982

Prior to that though, on Nov 21 1936 we drew 5-5 at Darlo in Div 3 North and then 1 week later in the FA Cup 1st round drew 4-4 at Rotherham. Unbelievable Jeff.

Finally, I think, on Jan 20 1962 it was 4-4 v Chester in Div 4

Yes, won the replay 2-0 but then went out to Crewe in round 2 after another replay but that was only 1-1.

biggest shock was how both defences kept it down to 4. could have ended the highest ever scoring game in history with a bit of luck.
