Geography teacher gave everyone in the class the belt as we all performed badly in a test, obviously later on in life I realised it was his bad teaching that caused the bad results.

Correct- ALWAYS the teachers fault - some parents couldn't possibly accept that their offspring have been arseholes. Though generally says more about the parents character than the unfortunate child they've spawned! :angry-tappingfoot:

So true, some parents will blame anyone and everyone for their odious offspring’s behaviour and thinks the world is out of sync with their twisted values.

when we were at school we had rules and boundaries we knew and if we fancied our chances to be arseholes we knew what was coming if we get caught. afraid john and jane lose respect when pupils call em that unlike our sir and miss dor starters.

When I was 8, me and my mate got the giggles in class and the teacher banned us from the school trip to the Lake District..for a cruise on Lake Windermere…spent the day in ‘detention’ drawing …..told me mam later and she went down like a rocket to get her 17/6 back. :laugh:

Kids know teachers carry no threats no matter how they misbehave, there is no real deterrent,the worst that can happen is detention or even expelled only to be moved for another school to pick up the pieces.

Used to have an elderly maths teacher at my school in County Durham called Butch Dixon. He had a fiery temper and would hurl the wooden blackboard rubber at anybody talking behind his back during a lesson. He hit more often than he missed, but he was still rated a good teacher by us.
