Looks like Askey is secure for now then.

Vote of confidence for Askey and staff that normally means getting sacked in the near future.

so nothing has really changed from a few weeks ago so why all of a sudden has he decided to put out a statement now. just an observation and not an anti raj rant.

Speculation about what the repercussions of our dismal run of form and saying that it’s business as usual/no one’s going anywhere.

I said in a previous thread when he originally put the club up for sale that an obvious sticking point could be ground ownership and he says it is.
The ground is safer where it is in my opinion.

He's in a no win situation, we all know that he's not some arab billionaire and we don't know how much money he's throwing at the club but it's more than anyone else is willing to do at the moment so let's just survive this season and hopefully at least stay in this god awful league and start again with new players and all the dead wood rid of.

Nothing to see here-

Askey is safe- sacking him is of no benefit to anybody, and would create more problems than it would solve.

However the ground needs to stay under council ownership regardless- of who owns the club.

The statement is once again a dig at fans and more so the council. Wrexham didnt own the ground when it was sold. Why on earth would the council sell the ground now? The club is going down the pan the one saving grace is us having the ground. If he had the money he would of bought it by now anyway. Askey might as well get packing his bags now. Last time he made a statement manager was gone few weeks later.

We had the same thing with IOR and when they found they were getting nowhere was when their interest started to fade I felt.
I can see the logic in one sense…..BUT…… you are leaving yourself wide open when you look at the clubs who fell foul of it.
Imagine if Coxless had got ownership of the ground, surely we’d have been history now and we wouldn’t be having these debates?

Its fine if raj coxall et al got the ground and it could only be a football ground the problem is, laws can be got around.

Why is raj interested in getting the ground still if he wants a quick sale? Do ypu want a quick sale or not raj? Dealing with hartlepool council would be a five year thing anyway. So do what every other chairman has done in over 100 years and sell it without the ground. Maybe if he had invested in the team a smattering of what a ground would cost he would have a very sellable north east team pulling in 5000 to 5500 in the football league.

True, but even if they offered us a brand new tin shed Stadium with all mod cons I’d opt for the Vic every time.

So he tells it like it is yet some are still not believing what he says andaking things up about him wanting the ground. He says that not having the ground is hindering the sale not that he is still trying to buy it!
Nobody has provided intent to buy and proof of funds to keep us going until May, that's what he says and I don't see why he would say that unless it's true - easy to dispute by anyone who has fulfilled the criteria.
He says there's going to be more players coming in which has to be good news.
So the bottom line is if he decides to chuck it in we're absolutely f*cked, so I would suggest that for the time being we consolidate behind our club and stop knocking the only guy around who's willing to keep us in existence.

Raj gives everyone the facts . Some people don’t like it but come up with a solution. At work it was wise to have a solution if you told your boss you had a problem. It is what is and we should get behind the team and management

5,000 Poolies chip in £150=£750,000 per season, Raj won't like that though as he won't be in control of the club. bbolt

I'm sure if you could arrange that and put it to Raj he'd consider it, he's said he'd welcome consortium investors. I'd doubt that sum would cover a seasons outgoings though, especially if the demand for better players is to be met.
The club is still for sale so I don't think he gives a flying f*ck about being in control of the club longer term.

Exactly, 5000 stakeholder poolies all thinking they know best for the running of the club and team. Recipe for disaster, just look at the contrasting views on here.

that would be the one with the loudest voice who would get it who most likely be the emptyest vessel like some union leaders i have known. fans do their job by paying an entrance fee into the vic or buying a season ticket plus spending other things they feel fit to do. do not want any who think they are super fans because they speak to the owner or get closer to the manager and players than the rest or us.

as far as i know most clubs rent and not own their ground even in the premier league. if it was the case of clubs being unable to be sold because of ground ownership there would be few takeovers. i for one do not to trail to somewhere in a green desert to watch a match which could so easily happen. halifax or fylde. which would you want.

If it comes ti Administration it wont be the end.
We have a council owned ground and a great fanbase.
Why would new shareholders want to come in now n basically get no return on there investments.
My opinion is we will get any amount of interest if n when we have to be reborn.
We basically living on a life support scenario at this present time.
I dont believe in Arab Fairy-tale takeovers.
A slight name change dont bother me.
I dont think our older generation of fans went into meltdown in the 60s when the S come off Hartlepools United.
What will be will be.
UTP.
