Had reason to go down the Headland last night about 8pm with Ratboy and driving back along a busy Northgate with the post parade drinkers out in force I counted six blokes wearing brand new out of the cellophane Newcastle shirts and gave up counting. WTF…doubtless they’ve never been to St James’s and have been waiting for a second coming after the Keegan era, but I suppose the world needs these people as a warning to others.

Most of them have probably never been to any live football, should get themselves along to the Vic and experience a last minute home winner like yesterday. Even after a dour game you can't beat that feeling.

That Keegan era was when our support was half of what it is now.
Nowadays its probably offsprings of the plastic pooly jawdees.
Cranks.

nothing againt newcastle fans in hartlepool or manchester city and united ones in stockport as long as they watch their clubs play and have done so in the lean times. its the bandwagon jumpers that go or the ones who use the shirt as a fashion statement i have issue with.

Funny that, my uncle moved down to East London in 1952 and spent most of his life there, got to going to West Ham and ended up supporting them. Despite all that my aunt asked me in 2010 if I’d drive down to London to pick I him up from hospital and fetch him as was moving back here as he didn’t like London anymore.. sets off daft o’clock in the night and gets there for 8 am, had a break and sets off back…. Driving back up the M11 his accent suddenly changed and he said ‘I can stop talking in that silly bloody way now’ ….

The result yesterday was excellent against a good Villa side. Its good for the north east we have a team competing up with the top teams. Eddie Howe has bought wisely and developed some players who i thought a few seasons ago wouldn't get in a pub side.

If he's been wandering around in the same West Ham top for 25 years - are you sure it's not actually a tattoo and he is therefore topless!? sctatchinghead

I must admit I don’t see how it’s good for the North East…I‘d just like to see a team that’s good for Hartlepool, the rest can join the Foreign Legion.

What the carTOON army do is of no real consequence to us- good bad or indifferent. That said should the sheikh have a younger cousin who would like to splash some of his pocket money on Pools and want his own adulation by waking up a very sleepy giant - then I could be persuaded!

I'm a one club man and can't get remotely excited about the 'Big 3' - though appreciated Sunlun and borer fans turning up pre season to help swell our fighting fund, whilst taking their arses home in a Morrison's/ Asda (other supermarkets are available though those are the nearest to HQ) carrier bag after the match!

Also note that Both Sunlun and borer have had shocking starts to the new campaign - which has raised a wry smile!

not over bothered either and the same with the other 2 as well. saying that it would not be that bad if the mags broke the man/liverpool stronghold and the other 2 did ok. do not really think it would affect pools gates if all 3 had a bit of success. actually we could pick up a few more fans who want to watch live football but get priced out if boro and the cats went up. at least the kids know our players will speak to them unlike the super stars with their heads in the clouds and earphones stuck in.
