Or if you’re local to the town, have a call into his shop, vinyl rocks, at kiwi trading on Osbourne Road.
Right old treasure trove of new and used vinyl

Hi Dykey.

That's a £200 record...I only know this 'cos I sold one for that about 3 months ago, on Clear Vinyl.

It was only released very briefly on vinyl, Cd's are cheap but the album is rare as seeing Raj Singh's wallet.

Get yourself along to Northern Rocks in Osborne Road for a mooch.

I live on the dark side in Darlington. Tried 3 shops here but nothing. One shop he is selling a Kenny Lynch single, he has been offered £125

Yeah it's his token Northern Soul effort. Quite rare! Daz from SaxSoul in Darlo is a good mate.

get your search engine into motion as there are loads of record fairs around the country. there is one in darlo tomorrow but do not know if it will be any good but if you do not try you are no worse off. pre covid i regularly visited antique fairs and mostly came home empty handed but occasionally find the gems you are after.

John died a few years ago now, the shop is now a non discript house.

Do yourself and your mum a favour, just go on Google to see what they are selling for. There may by some You want to keep.

Tip. Take note of release day, and record label it's on, and the album cover and if it is on coloured vinyl..is any other colour that's not black.

I don't know what era your Dads albums are from, but let's say your have a pink floyd album wish you were here..millions made..but they came with a postcard..nearly all lost or posted to people..that album with that postcard..bingo.

You would be amazed at what is or is not worth money.

One last thing ,vinyl is back big time..so people are paying strong money.

wish pre 1945 78,s would make a comeback. at the moment they are worth about the same as the original cost of them. must have 2 or 3 hundred of the things that get carted around from one house move to another unplayed but at least unbroken.

You might be able to weigh them in.
Hope you don't store them in a loft, you'll have to reinforce it.
Mind you early blues music, will be worth a few quid on a 78.

Doubt there’s any Floyd in there haha! Put it this way, my dads musical tastes were pre 1960! There’s some 78s in the collection I know that.

so were the tastes of the late great frank worthington. he collected early rock and roll 78,s and ended up the most famous person ever to ring my doorbell. didn,t live far from me and was told by another player that i had a large number of them but was dissapointed to find out they were older than his taste.
