Typical of an away team to one of the best sides in Europe to go there and time waste, cheat and generally roll around on the floor and then win 2-1.
Makes my blood boil. :liar:

would love to see that grealish play against some of the hard men of the past. they,d give him a reason to go down but possibly he,d stay down in the end.

England very impressive in the first half but then imploded in the second half. Italy unlucky not to get a second goal.

Exactly. They completely bossed the first half and if Grealish hadn't missed a sitter would have gone in 3-0 up at half time. They went into their shells second half - or maybe Italy just played a lot better after a half time bollocking. First England win in Italy since 1961.

And as if anybody can teach the Italians anything about the dark arts of time wasting and rolling around on the ground as if shot after a minor foul  'Ave some back bambinos

is it just me or is there getting less interest in england and international football as the years go by with fans of lower and non league football. once an international game was a rarer affair unlike now when they seem to pop up more regularly. or is it the players themselves that many just cannot take to.

No, it's not just you but we're all different - you can't generalise about lower league fans.
Personally I'd rather have a trip to the dentists than sit through a Crawley home game that didn't involve Pools, even if it costs nowt on IPTV. Takes all sorts.

Part of it is they get that much money nowadays, that coming from watching Pools we tend to resent them more and more. England games I used to love years ago now I hardly watch them, as we all know they have basically qualified before a ball is kicked. I would still love england to win a major tournament and not that nations rubbish which just needs scrapping.

being one who cannot afford to watch all pools game i have to pick and choose. crawley are the bottom of the list of teams i want to see pools play especially this season as i doubt i could take a defeat at the vic next month and i,m ur afraid some poor unsuspecting sod would incur my wrath on the way home. its better staying at home or even better out with the dog between 3 and 5 to save some of her art deco glass.

Pleased to see the ref issue yellow cards early on for time wasting. Walkers in particular pleased me, with the ball close to him for a throw in he deliberately wandered off to pick up another ball.

Faroe Islands winning 1-0 in Moldova in the Euro qualifiers, now I know Moldova ain't any great shakes but would still be a shock if they hold on.

Simply too many "tournaments" to stay interested in. No idea what that Nations Cup thing is but it seems Scotland have already qualified for the play-offs for Euro 2024 before a ball was kicked in their Euro 2024 Qualifying Group and they are now trying to qualify again (this time not via the play-offs) by coming 2nd in their Group to Spain. WTAF?

I think most people only care when England get to the finals as it's an excuse to head to the pub and churn out the names that the media tell them about

The second half was truly dreadful - I spent a good part of it on my phone. Bit like the Italy game only against weaker opponents - England raced into a good lead then Southgate put the team to sleep over a half-time cocoa.

He seems quite content for his team to play keep ball forever on the back of a narrowish lead. Italy nearly made England pay and if Ukraine had sneaked a late goal it would have been panic stations till the final whistle.

England will always be boring as long as Southgate is in charge.

thats the problem with international sport. beating eyeties, waps, krauts and argies seems to be more important to some than the games themselves. football for the lowest.
