Have watched Northampton's equalizer back half a dozen times and still don't understand how it stands. Northampton player brings it onto the pitch from behind the goal line, puts it more or less on the corner spot and wanders off. Their number 12 comes over to take the corner, takes THREE touches of the ball as he runs towards the near post then crosses for the headed goal.

Can only think the first player is somehow deemed to have taken the corner, which is mind boggling. Can't hear the ref's whistle but can hear a fan shouting 'What's he doing???'

I saw it as an illegal corner, but watching it again. Yeah smart corner, well worth it.

Except that the ball isn't stationary when the first player touches it out of the corner arc. The ref or lino should have spotted that and disallowed it.

Then again, the same people missed Murray's elbow in their No.8's face...

That tactic of taking a corner is legitimate but the ball has to be stationary to take the corner which it wasn’t on this occasion. Let’s be honest though it’s irrelevant, if he stopped the ball first he still would’ve only moved it a fraction for his mate, and we still would’ve defended it very badly. A goal was coming either way.

totally legal i,m not sure. if it had been us doing it would we have got away with it with that ref yesterday. to be honest i,d have had it re taken no matter which team did it as there was more of a hint about law stretching about it and doubt they,d have made a big issue about him doing that. it always seems to be pools involved in controvacy and i doubt anything close to that has happened in the hundreds of corners taken on saturday or the thousands throught the season.
