I made the mistake of watching this last night.

I used to quite enjoy it for a while as you got to see various "clever" people discussing topical things and I found it a good measure of how other people were thinking - I gave a few years back when it became all Brexit and then all War and therefore became a drag.

But last night it was (apart from Ian Hislop) nonentities/2nd div politicians on view, and you knew exactly what they were going to say before they said it, and it quickly turned into a kind of tedious borefest with an added garnish of bickering.

That's it for me.

Unmissable viewing for years, now unwatchable.
The politicians are the usual party hacks banging out the same tedious mantra’s and the idea we needed the opinion of a ‘suitable’ comedian drawn from the BBC’s stock of unfunny drones on every week killed it for me.
Worst of all, where do they get the audience from as 90% appear to be plants away with the fairies.

It’s the BBC, it can’t be too controversial as the woke brigade would kick off, politicians have to toe the party line, some times the comedians appear to have more sense than the politicians.
Heslop says how it is, I am surprised he is still allowed on the BBC.

possibly heslop is regarded as the token brain. anyway just imagine being a politician, they are not even allowed to voice their own opinions but at least we are better off than them because at the moment we still can.

Years ago I can remember "big dogs" going on.

John Smith (ex Labour leader) in particular used to go on and run rings around some of the others. This was when I was young and green but on saying that even back then I could pick out the better brains.

Now no "big dogs" go on as they're too scared - in fact they are "Scaredy Cats"

It’s a shame he died so young, a common sense bloke you couldn’t help but admire, we’d have avoided Tony Blair’s cock ups that ‘s for sure.

Years ago even politicians you may not agree with could always seem to put their viewpoint over without soundbites and spin, like they all seem to do now.

Why was a question raised about Sturgeon, the programme was from Scunthorpe and tbh very few of the audience or anyone know about politics in Scotland.
