Pools' long-time goalkeeping deputy Jim Provett has yet to sign the new contract which was offered at the end of the season and it is believed the former player of the year is to leave.

Four clubs are interested in his services and the 24-year-old looks set to leave the North-East. His last Football League appearance for Pools was a 2-2 draw with Peterborough in March 2005. This season he only appeared in two Cup ties.

I was at that game, 2-0 up at half time and cruising. Peterborough made two substitutions and murdered us all second half. We were lucky to get the draw.

Well we all thought that this close season there would be a big clear out and its obvious if the rumours are true DW only sees Jimbo as a No 2 keeper.

It's been hard for Jimbo at Pools but if he goes good luck to the lad.

Yeah, I expected Jim to go too!

2 new Keepers at Pools next season, Hopefully Wilson gets them working hard with the Defence to work up a good understanding

jim was offered a new deal and rejected it. then when it became clear that dimi had finally decided to go jims agent asked for talks. sir ken told him to pish off, leaving the agent gobsmacked.

cant see that jim would have rejected the initial offer if he didnt have something else lined up.

from what i can gather the pools hierarchy got completely fed up of both goalkeepers agents pishing them about and hence the statement last sunday on the official website.

personally i think the club have done the right thing, though i agree jim is a smashing lad and deserves first team football somewhere.

To be honest, I'd have done first thing. If Dimi had of stayed he wouldn't have had first team football, and he needs it to progress his career.
