Is this the end of the world as we know it or will make absolutely no difference to the club apart from not having to pay his salary?

I don't think removing one of the multi layers of the management hierarchy will be that much of a loss.

A nation mourns…or probably not.
The money he takes from the club off the field would be better spent on the field.

the position was made open to public knowledge along with its criteria and salary am i not right, before Hobin got it ?

wasnt the salary around 70k a year plus other incentives...

his salary will be paid till March then another will come in so saving money (unless the salary has been reduced) doesnt seem like the motive on this one ?

When the title Chief Executive was introduced all it did was introduce inflated salaries like on the Council, Health Service etc. how did we manage all those years ago when we only had managers and matrons ?

well they could not do any hospital related carry on series as with the extra health service jobs the cast would be too big for the budget. mind yoy Carry On Chief Executive does have a ring about it.

Always made me laugh that carry on. Before the Council ‘Chief Executives’, awarded themselves such grand titles they were known as the ‘Town Clerk’… so a fancy title attracts a fancy wage.
Back in the day I was given a promotion that came with a new title… I was called in and apologetically by the engineer and told there’s a problem with your new job title…I asked if the money was still the same as offered and the new hours, he said yes so I told him he could call me a Vice Admiral in the Chinese Navy for all I cared….. his reply was “Really?”

my mate worked for years in accountancy to end up as chief accountant in a textile firm. then lo and behold he became financial director with no increase of pay, extra responsibility or being a director as we think of what directors are.
