Pools 1 -0 another close game Bogle to score again

crowd 4,500 320 away fans, weather effect reduces crowd by 500.

Weathers calmed down for now so...

Aren't Feaths and Morris similiar types of players so you wouldnt want both on at the same time? I'd got the impression that Morris has been brought in to replace Feaths. Dont get me wrong, I acknowledge that Feaths is one of our best technical players with a great range of passing but he isnt getting any a younger. My midfield would be Morris, Crawford and Holohan.

They are but Morris has simply being dropping deep to collect balls Feaths would usually come an get from the Defence - this is something we know works well and the lads at the back are comfortable with. Should Feaths start Morris will advance and push up the field which he also is very good at.

His first 20 mins in the game at the weekend he was looking for the forward pass - breaking down play where he could, covering the center of the pitch aswell as the final 3rd when the play dictated. I think hes the Midfield general we needed and should Holohan start over him, the midfield wont be as strong. Morris likes to tackle, unfortunately most of our other mids dont get stuck in the tackle like he does.

I hope to god we sign him in the summer - White probably could do with sitting it out, only because his age as technically your a pro with a pro level of fitness and it shouldnt have impact as to wether you start 2 consecutive games or not. Newcastle certainly wouldnt take that as an excuse.

Featherstone is nailed on to start the game barring a training injury.

I appreciate you taking time to respond and I like your description of the two aspects of Morris's game. I would not prefer Holohan or any other midfielder in the current squad over him, he is obvious quality. As I said earlier, my midfield trio for tomorrow would be Morris, Crawford and Holohan.

Morris has been doing a job in featherstones place, He can play further forward,

The turnaround Tranmere have had since the first time we played them this season has probably got to be their best run of form since they were back promoted into this league - hats off to them as their squad isnt technically brilliant on paper and they have been lacking a real front man most of the season like we had. I remember trawling their forum prior to us playing them and reading how in adept their squad was and how their form at the time was bad due to midfield / defence issues / injuries not having a striker etc etc. Not sure whats happened but i hope we can put a nail in their coffin tonight as we battered them the first game.

Their defence is excellent and they have a decent manager who will be telling them to bombard Killip with crosses. Can we stop the crosses cos Killip wont catch or punch them? I think Pools will struggle this evening but I hope I am wrong.

Tell ya whats impressive.... the setup of one of their forums. Really like this. nice little review bit showing their next game etc.

https://whitereview.co.uk/community/thr ... vers.5826/

i think we have them on the ropes already judging some of them comments (page 4 onwards rearranged fixture chat). Our home form - they have key players out. I think we might just put 2 or 3 past them tbh if we play like we did first half Barrow game.

i could take a defeat if it exposes him so much as being the problem in the side and the new lad comes in and shows an improvement in the position. many times some good comes out of the bad.

You'd like to see Pools lose so it proves one of our players is not good enough. That's real support that is....

Beat a good side there. Very pleased. Lots of great performances throughout the team. I like Bogle's contribution. Others might have appeared to have had better games but he made a huge difference.

Play offs are not out of reach. Automatic promotion is a bridge too far but play offs are doable.

Oh, and an excellent save from Killip just to keep Mr edBall happy!

If Tranmere are second top we have nothing to fear in this league, they hardly threatened our goal all night. Sutton on Saturday who are a big side apparently but I notice haven’t won in four games, no reason why we can’t pick up another three points. Winning is becoming a habit.

40 points in the bag and we can spend the rest of the season looking up not down. Another great night at the Vic. The atmosphere on Saturday against Sutton is going to be mental.

Tranmere had a lot of possession but did nothing with it and were poor all night. 2nd in the League? Seriously?

In other news Tyler Burey scored for Millwall in their 2-0 win over QPR and Luke Armstrong scored for Harrogate who gave away a 3-1 lead and lost 4-3 at Exeter. I bet he wishes he'd stayed with us.

I didnt see the game so I would be interested in an answer to this question. Did Tranmere not look threatening because of our good organization and tactics or were they just poor footballers?

From what I heard from the Sky sports reporter, a thoroughly deserved victory, Tranmere hardly had a sniff. This is turning into a very good season. I just wish I could be at more games, the sky sports reporter also commented on the impressive crowd!!!! PTID

When we scored on half time, I expected them to come out fighting......hmmmm.....but after their half time pep talk they were just running about flapping like a phalanx of angry palm trees, all that increased was their speed (marginally), their frustration and their tempers.

I've just walked through the door and am well chuffed with the three points against a bunch of thugs and a totally incompetent, inept and out of HER (I am resisting mentioning knitting, ironing and other such pastimes) depth referee.
Now for Sutton.

I was trying to understand the factor we had, they they lacked and realised it was like watching relentless worker ants performing as a team and not giving the opposition time on the ball , relentlessly harassing them to regain possession and never letting up.

Their ‘style’ of play was very similar to Barrow’s, but not as good. I saw nothing last night that said 2nd top. They were bang average .

From the highlights it's great to see that Pools have skillful players on the ball. It's a long time since we have had a team of players with good feet.
Great control and technique all over the pitch.

Obviously they're not a poor side - they're still second top after 2 consecutive defeats. They play at high tempo and put a lot of pressure on the opposition, but Pools have tons of confidence in their own game at the minute and didn't get rattled at all by Tranmere's pressing game. It was well into the second half before they won their first corner.

The ref controlled the game well but was too lenient with the yellow cards. Tranmere got away with a lot of professional fouls when Pools were breaking out of defence, otherwise they'd have had even more to worry about.

The work rate has definitely moved up a notch, we chased every ball and we had 2 sometimes 3 men around their player with the ball.

Good time to play Sutton and the same effort and a little more composure around the opposition box will see us win more than lose
