So after all the money coming in from the cups ,the league, transfers, compensation for DC we were told by Raj there would be money available for new players. What happens next to nothing one lower league striker and a young lad on loan. While I wish them all the best we need goals in the team and tightening up at the back, I see Magliore is signing for Northampton a class player at Pools . We are told be patient which is all well and good as long as it does not end up with us being relegated. Please accept this as genuine concern and not an anti Raj rant.

the positive is that there is still 13 days left to bring players in. can take a lot longer than in the past to get transfers through. on the negative side is the type of player we have brought in. personally i,m really underwhelmed.

Not to mention we are actually a lot weaker now than when we went into this transfer window, what is it 6 players gone? no more cup winning goals from Daley who probobly made us a small fortune and no signs of burey now.

There’s only Daly that’s left of any significance to the team in my opinion.

We have had a big low quality squad put together. Hopefully we will get 3 good additions but it’s a tough window. Lots of our teams would have been planning on loans which due to COVID won’t happen so are looking at the permanent signings.

I imagine both of these things have slowed things down. Lee has said he’s waiting on his targets and doesn’t just want to fill out the squad with low quality players like DC did in the summer.

Maybe save the judgement to February 1st?

Unless BBC Sport's Transfer News is missing a lot of stuff there's not a huge amount of business going on at the minute with other L2 clubs. They haven't got Magloire on there yet - agree he was very good for Pools during his loan spell last season and would be a great signing at this level.

If Lee and Co. manage to land a quality keeper and second striker it will be worth the wait. If!

think everyone does start to panic a bit when nothing seems to be happening. seems so much business always seems to get finalised the last couple of days in the window and can see that happening with pools.

Can we afford to keep waiting? This really is our good spell of fixtures, A win tonight and maybe we can, a few good players in for the Charlton game and we could be one game away from Wembley or on the other hand one or two injuries or a bit of covid now think we could be very weak.

We need the players NOW. We need a quality keeper before the next game. Stevenage at home.

Very worrying as we enter another week and not even the slightest of rumours - I know the current climate etc doesn't make this easy as January is an absolute ball ache of a time to be picking up players anyways but like anything, money talks and should we have this apparent war chest then we should be making more noise where signings are considered.

We know there is a GK(s) training with us and videos are being sent (what videos is anyones guess). This is promising but i thought we would have seen something this week. Midfielder to replace Daly and Burey tbh. A perm signing of quality would be ideal but cant see that happening in Jan unless we take a punt on a free agent.

More striking options wouldnt go a miss either - the release of Fondop im thinking we may see someone come in to replace him. We need someone who can come off the bench in that final 3rd and have an impact. Just like Joe did in the Blackpool game. Joe is the answer for the future for me but still too weak on the ball to act as our main target man. Another large presence up front would be perfect, someone a little better than Fondop though please.

always remember that at clubs there are many players out of contract in the summer who will go on a free as clubs either do not want them or they do not want that club. surely we have people at the club who have found some of these that a club would except any oney than nothing in may. do not want to get to theof just making any old signing just to fill the gaps we now have. however last minute signings does not prove how good or bad a player may be.

Wondered how long it would take for you to turn up with your obsessive revelations. If anyone wants to embrace your ramblings about Raj, ........ you point out Raj in your opening preamble about lack of finance....then contradict yourself in the last sentence by saying it’s not an anti Raj rant......yeah, whatever

My only toxic agenda is that the team do well and i will not bow to our owners whims and fancies as poolie 1 does. the fact staring us all in the face unless the league form improves especially away from home we will end up in a relegation fight.

So
Outgoings
Goodwin, Jones. Daly. Burey all return to parent clubs.
Mitchell. Lawler Fondop all released.
Incomings
Hull on loan till end of season
Carver permanent signing.

Net balancing requirement is another five bodies if we wish to return to former squad size.

My choice.

Goalkeeper who can come for crosses.
Attacking midfielder with pace
Big striker good in the air.
Ball winning midfielder with height
Central defender with pace.

Would imagine another Central Defender will be leaving.

Had a ridiculous size squad at start of season. Out of the 7 only really 3 or 4 involved so at most another 3 replacements, Goalkeeper, Midfield and a Forward of League standard would be good.

Still think we need a proper experienced leader on the pitch who will let the players who are just coasting through a game know about it

The the midfield last night had some nice intricate passing, but they have to realise they need to move forward eventually to get near the goal, otherwise it’s called Scottish Country Dancing (lot of effort with little return). There seemed at times to be an invisible force field that made certain players going forward suddenly stop and start looking around instead of pressing on. It’s called pressurising the opposition, you don’t stop and give them time to organise.
The team needs a couple of sheep dogs to bite their arses and get them moving.

Spot on. We started the season with too many players who aren't League 2 standard and it can only be a good thing to get them off the wage bill. Lee and Hobin are both saying that there is money to spend, but only on players who will improve the team. Turnbull has never given an interview as far as I'm aware. It's test of credibility to get at least a couple in (as well as some decent loan signings) by 31st January.

Sounds like the revolving door of replaceing shit with shit has stopped spinning.
1 more decent permanent signing plus anutha loanie Shud retain our league status.
Offload the rest of shit out of contract in May.
Then its up to Rajgy to back Lee in the Summer to seriously challenge for a play off spot.
He has to to maintain our fanbase for next season.
Basic strategy really that should ensure a decent season.

that is so bloody obvious it hardly needs saying. problem for years at pools is that most times the best we got was someone similar coming in to replace players. many times they have proved to be worse.

it looks that way - maybe finally we are not going to replace the shit with shit and actually bring in players worth value on decent contracts to keep us in the league. We need a solid 11 with 3 good benched players also, which i believe we are not too far from. We need to be bringing in more players like Sterry - Armstrong - Magliore. Players who can decide where you finish in the league. Then add quality through loan signings, such as your Bureys and Tshibola type characters. Steadying of the ship i think is in full motion due to the fact we are slowly getting shot of DCs panic buys. We know Raj kept funding from him, this was obviously tactical. Wishing for miracles now is dumb and if you know anything about football then you know January isnt the time to be building a new team. Seems our summer campaign is the one.

You may be right January is not a time to build a new team but it is a time to strengthen your squad in weak areas something we have yet to do.Lets just hope we are not building our new team, in the summer campaign in the National League.

That is basic common sense though, saying that one of our main targets, we signed is sat on the bench. How is that improving us? When pools start coming out with all this spiel about need to get better than we have got, it's normally code for were struggling to get anyone in.

I think we will have enough to stay up but lose Saturday will put major pressure on us. Nothing wrong having a major clear out, but we need to have a plan b, few injuries now we're in a spot of bother.

And most players who come in at the end of a window at this level aint the best picks.
Like u say earlier we should be ok to stay up.
But come the Summer Window we really do need to hit the ground running early doors.
Theres cash in the Pot.
Not millions but surely enuf to pay the going rate to challenge for a top 7 spot.

Challinor will know Pools are under no pressure to sell and Stockport would have to offer an inflated price even to get a flicker of interest.

He also knows that practically the whole squad will be out of contract in June. If he's seriously interested in any of his former players, that's when he'll come in for them.

Yes i can see the summer being a smash and grab for players out of contract if negotiations arnt in place already for those that are out of contract.

Tbh... would Holohan even get anywhere near the Stockport team atm. The 2 lads in center mid and the attack MF they have on the bench are the business. also proving it over the last few games - hate to say it but defintely a force to be reckoned with just now.

Challinor will know Pools are under no pressure to sell and Stockport would have to offer an inflated price even to get a flicker of interest.

He also knows that practically the whole squad will be out of contract in June. If he's seriously interested in any of his former players, that's when he'll come in for them.

If Stockport wanted him they would get him on the cheap, out of contract in June can't see raj turning another 50 k down if they even want him.

I think you really do overrate the ability of our squad and even more Challinor’s interest in any of them, to attract his interest.
What fuels this dream, because it’s like some obsession to keep linking him with the club, sort of keeping the dream alive.
Mind you, the criticism the team gets on here has me wondering why even the dog food factory would put in an offer.
He’s gone,
