give him the job please Raj he is the best placed candid of all you have in front you. He is in my humble opinion a copy of Eddie Howe. Please please do not miss this opportunity to employe a up and coming superb young fresh manager. This lad is a winner and loyal to this club as well as a totally switched on individual.

I Agree maybe bring in an older experienced guy as assistant to do the background management stuff leaving him to concentrate on the team with Mcguckin as his first team coach.

eyebrows.....totally agree......but does he want the job??....that is the question.....there is a suggestion from some he doesn't want to move into management... and that he wants to remain a coach.... which is fair enough if that's the case...

same with me. he,d bring some continuity into the job when a new broom could sweep what good there is out to bring there own philosophy into the club. as you say does he fancy the job with all the non footballing stuff behind it.

There's supposed to be a Director of Football coming in, presumably it will be somebody with loads of experience and contacts in the game as the main job is player recruitment.

Pools will do very well to find a young manager/coach who is a better prospect than Tony Sweeney to work in that system. Great interview from Sweens after last night's win. He talks the talk and clearly has the dressing room with him.

Maybe Raj is hanging back to see how the Lincoln game / 3rd round draw goes.
Before appointing our new Messiah

its been very silent on the rumour front - usually by now we have been linked with alsorts. Last time out wasnt there over 100 applicants or something Raj said. Wonder if the interest is just as good this time.

I must admit I had doubts about Sweeney owing to wether he would be able to have contacts within the game having virtually all his career on Teesside like Micky Barron. However I have been impressed with his interviews before and after games and would like to see him given a chance with maybe ‘an old hand’ as assistant.

I imagine the decisions to appoint a head of recruitment is to avoid relying on the management teams contacts for our recruitment. I think the summer showed how much we struggled in that regard and a lot of the positive signings had nothing to do with Challinor.

I’ve never felt this way about an appointment because in a way I can’t see anyone doing as well as DC or see a better successor than Sweeney.

What if we give the job to Tony and ask Neil Warnock to be Director of Football responsible for recruitment. If he hasn't got contacts in the game then nobody has. As well as that he is a shoulder to lean on for Tony and Guck.
He did play for Pools and scored against Darlo.
What better credentials than that.
Just a thought like.

Yep sound a sensible option.

Warnock live deep down south in the sticks now. Well Cornwall to be precise.
If Non stick Dave thought he had a commute...think of Warnock’s.
