Earlier this morning Radio 4 had Stewart Copeland of the Police explaining what Charlie's drumming technique brought to the classic Rolling Stones recordings and why they can never sound like the 'real' Stones with someone else in the drummer's seat.

Charlie always came over as a top bloke in interviews. RIP.
