Seems very simple to me... If a foreign army invaded this country and stayed for 20 years then an army of British rebels took over after fighting the foreigners for that same 20 years, who would you as a Briton side with?

Herein lies the answer to why the Afghan army behaved like the French on a bad day. It ain't complicated.

Could not have put it better just a shame so many totally innocent people keep on getting killed or injured that includes all soldiers. So many years so many wars so sad.

especially in a country like that which has always been warlike. the russians going in there was not a success either. should never have got involved with the place at the start.

God knows why anyone got involved in the first place. They’ve been trying to tame the place for 200 years and everyone’s failed, even the Russians. Did anyone seriously expect the Afghan ‘Army’ to put up any sort of a fight.... even though they outnumbered the Taliban 6 to 1......? .....leave them to live their life their way, maybe they don’t want our wonderful lifestyle imposing on them.
As for Biden, I have my doubts he’s on this planet.

Afghanistan is a lot more complicated than our press/government makes out. The best thing to do is look up some articles on the subject with differing view points only then will do you realise it unsolvable. India 1947?

exactly. the west is so arrogant in trying to impose their lifestyle on the rest of the world. its bad enough having to suffer the americanisation of this country without us doing this to others.

We can't keep coddling and controlling Afghanistan forever. Sooner or later they'll need to have their own autonomy be it democratic or not. The Yanks failed in Korea, failed in Nam and on their own soil with the "war on drugs". I really wish as a country they'd go isolationist and leave the rest of the planet alone, I'm pretty sure world peace would be achieved in about 4 minutes.
