I haven’t really.... but over the years I always wondered what I’d do with such an obscene amount of money. I have no need of fancy houses, cars, yachts or private jets, so one of the things I always said I’d do is buy Pools.......hmmmm..... but then when you go into it, unless you’re financially illiterate, listen to the financially illiterate and wear a Pools shirt in bed and are basically a terrace fundamentalist, it may not be the bed of roses you anticipated.
Buying the club is the easy part.
I suspect if you lived in the town, you’d best move out.... because everyone who knows what should be done will be giving their incoherent version of events from money to players.... and if you hit a bad patch the usual suspects will be compelled to give you a ‘piece of their mind’ every time you appear in public in the supermarket. The words “Hoy, twat head when are yer gonna spend more money” echoing across the restaurant from some frazzled ‘fan’ will add a certain ambience to your family meal.
Social media will have to be turned off automatically as on line ‘financial experts’, football pundits and assorted Walter Mitty’s give you their experience and demand you listen and act on their advice.
It’s a nice thought, running Pools...I’d still buy the club but make some other mug Chairman.... you know it makes sense.

I would buy a tract of farmland near to me to stop the builders putting houses on it and convert the land to wild meadow with trees etc.
Then I would sponsor the wages of one higher level midfielder for pool's for 3 years.
The rest I would piss up against the wall.

So no wasting the money then

I'd build and find a technical college in the town to train kids from the Raghu estates in a proper trade.

think the only problem will be the social media lot. its not compulsory anyway and can never understand why high profile players ever bother with it. as for getting shit around the town. unless its some piss head or druggie thats involved the vast majority of fans would be all over you like a pro in a brothel to get information, free tickets etc. fans have more faces than anything you can think of. how many have spoken to pools players with a big grin on their faces in a friendly manner and then when the game starts give em abuse. prefer to walk past em myself if they are crap and make no eye contact whatsoever.
