Lets forget about the colour of the players and concentrate on the skills on the pitch. OK. Whilst the penalties were being taken, I didn't even register the colour of the skin of the player taking the kick. That's why I was so surprised & disgusted to learn of the abuse suffered by those who failed to score. What is the matter with some people ?

Spot on, Mr Fetish, racism is taught/learned and not the "natural" way of things that some would have us believe. Sadly some people don't seem able to see beyond the colour of someone's skin which says a lot more about them than it does about anyone else. What is wrong with taking people as you find them? so do i but its a big hope. remember racism is not confined to the white british. there are plenty of non whites born of parents themselves who were born here just as bad. can take anyone on here to some shops and market stalls in dewsbury and bradford where we as whites are not welcome. on top of this we had a polish football side in keighley. they played a pakistani side and it was complete mayhem when they played eaxh other in the first game. both were good sides and guess who got the return fixture to ref. hardest game i ever had just to keep the lid on it. god knows what they were calling each other during the game but i doubt it was well played pal. what causes racism is quite beyond me and will never understand it. a dick is a dick whatever their colour of skin and so is a top person. however care needs to be taken in painting one race the good guys and the other the bad unless you want to stoke things up more.

If they’d scored, Rashford’s would have been shown for years to come, but you have to allow for the mindset of the moron....if he had scored they’d have cheered loudest and celebrated the hardest.... if he doesn’t score they will immediately turn on you like a pack of hyenas. They have this simplistic ability of the pack to be triggered by any event, it avoids having to think .

Happy to write my first ever comment on the bunker to support this. Just a thought: wouldn't it help if those now taking the knee adopted a more neutral symbol? Despite all their protestations that they have nothing to do with the extreme political group whose symbol this is, which I take on board, actions make a deeper impression than words and it gives the racists a chance to hide behind something. Perhaps standing up with arms across the chest and head bowed would be less provocative. Those who booed that then would self identify as racist.

whilst that is better than the other option is either really needed especially in club football. i know we had a problem with a few at that dover game but the racial problem in sport is hardly a big issue anymore. international sport is so different as it brings a nationalistic approach out of some people. if those lads had scored those penalties i doubt we,d be talking about this issue. certainly we never have to get into a situation where we walk on eggshells criticising a black lad who plays for pools if he has a nightmare anytime.

hopefully its about total equality for all no matter colour, race or sexuality. seems over the last year or so peoples skin colour has become more important an issue than even back in the banana and monkey chant days. we are moving backward not forward for me.

I did not expect this reaction when I wrote my piece about Racism on social media and I fairly bad at the response. It was a genuine attempt to get support to rid the game of this cancer from within.

It was exactly the reaction that I expected but I'd have been very happy to have been proved wrong.

Since back end of March I've been following a family of 5 gooselings n their dedicated parents in Ward Jackson Park.
From little green fluffy babies they have had to endure that freezing weather in April plus attacks from Seagulls.
After my visit this morning I am glad to report that all are now fully grown n healthy.
