Absolutely delighted for everyone associated with @Official_HUFC especially their amazing fans who have been through so much but never stopped supporting their club!! Special mention to Nicky Featherstone who has been there for the full journey, legend!

doubt being their captain would stop us signing him. lot depends on what they,d want for him. donaldson might have been pools captain but if someone had come in with an offer he might have gone.

If we cant afford to keep Johnson, how can we afford to sign Carson.

exactly - dont understand where this rumour has came from - the first raft of players through the door guaranteed will be freebies. Released players by other league 2 clubs. More likely the ex Newport keeper who just been released than Carson. Would love him back as best keeper we have had since Dimi but cant see this one getting over the line.

but possibly a few underwhelming signings we have never heard of before that become our favourites. who heard of johnson, cass, sterry, ferguson and even armstrong before they were signed and who the hell wanted oates back at the club. carson would be a great signing but not one to use a big whack of the budget on though.

Possibly as Goalkeeping coach/backup keeper - had poor health & injuries recently and with Ross Turnbull off to Chelski a coaching role seems a more likely scenario than as first choice keeper

With Ross Turnbull returning to Chelsea i hope to god DC got into him about potentially pushing some players our way when he is there - few Chelsea U21 players wouldnt go a miss. Some unbelievable talent coming through that place atm. (footy manager ;))

yes. forgot the number of young chelsea kids who were out on loan 2018/9 season. however i was shocked by the number who were loaned to teams in other leagues even at non league level.

A player who has covid at pools is joining Notts County early next week. Their club photographer has confirmed to their fans mailing list. Question is who.

I do rate him, but is Featherstone really that valuable? He's getting fairly old, doesn't exactly have a spectacular career and perhaps wouldn't work in a team that has a different style to us. We all seen that during his first few seasons where he struggled.

As for Donaldson, they're more than welcome to take him.

I’d be building my midfield with Featherstone anchoring it 100%. Challinor got him playing his best

We'll have to wait and see. If it's Molyneux or Donaldson you'd have to say National League is currently their level, based on how few games they started for Pools last season.

Featherstone is comfortably good enough for League Two and it would have to be a very good deal for him to be tempted to stay in the NL.

Notts County fans forum seem to think it's Featherstone. They also seem confident that Sterry is signing as well!

Cant be Shelton - was out and about on his socials with his unreal bit of Italian Skirt this weekend.

Cant believe Feaths is looking at going back into that shower of shite. But Money talks. Doesnt matter what we think tbh.

Sterry would be a fool to stay at that level. But if we are going to loose him id rather him not stay in this league and play against us next season for a rival.

Also why the fuck have we not signed anyone

most improved player at pools since challinor took over. really gone from zero to hero with a lot of fans. even prior to challinor he wasn,t great but we had always worse than him on the pitch.

Eventually someone at the club will come up with the novel idea that perhaps they should make some sort of attempt to give us some idea of what is going on.
Just for a change like.
Meanwhile the ticket office is planning to open from 4 am until midnight in order to cope with the huge demand for season tickets.

It's a fortnight today since we won promotion to League Two and all we've heard so far is that (at least) 3 key members of that starting 11 have gone elsewhere.

Could only happen at Hartlepool...

I'm still buzzin about the play off final

It'll all be fine re players. We're hardly going to be in a position where we can't field 11 players are we?

I might clean my boots just in case though

It is a bit gutting after the high of two weeks ago, that we are basically losing the key players the got us up, Challinor said the squad would probably be dismantled if we didn't win promotion, so god knows what mess we would of been in if we hadn't got promoted. Signing Carson would be a little boost, but how we find a player to replace Armstrong in a league higher is going to be tough.

I think DC said that Bennett was on twice the money our players are on. I would imagine if he moves up a league he would be looking for more money. It's a bit bizarre to expect someone to go up a league and take a cut but maybe DC can persuade him otherwise.

Bennett's contract at Stockport was cancelled (it's on their official site). Pretty sure he's not signed for anyone else so far.

He was named Darlo's Man of the Match when we beat them at the White Elephant Stadium in 2007. I was in their Players Lounge or whatever it was called when he received the award, looking very sheepish, as well as he might!

A man with a very large head, ideal for a centre back I suppose.

He's had a very good career but is 34 now and hasn't played any competitive football since the first lockdown started in March last year because of a nasty contract dispute with Oldham's owners. The Latics fans mostly blamed the owners.

Does this mean that Liddle is on his way?
Or are we to have two central defenders with a combined age close to seventy?
Whereas I am perfectly happy with DC's ability to recruit, I can't help thinking the lack of backing is hampering him. I am sure he will get the right quantity required but I'm beginning to scratch my head over the quality.

in the Fail today it suggests all who have yet to sign have other offers on the table - that includes Liddle.

id be happy with a Liddle - Wheater partnership, only the latters injury record going off that Oldham post seems a bit suspect ?

Liddle could maybe fill in for Featherstone as midfield anchor man. If we're playing him and Wheater in central defence we need a bit of pace with them. Magliore on loan again??? I'd like to see Liddle, Magliore and Cass as the back three.

Liddle struggled in midfield at walsall according to thier fans, thats why he was released.
Odusina has pace, and never put a foot wrong after Maidenhead.
