Evelyn was it Harrison's lonely hearts club or something like that? I remember her once coming to The Royal Arms in Peterlee one night with a few of her "girls" and a few men scattered.

That’s the one. I think her lonely hearts club was mostly all for war widows. Her heart was in the right place but absolutely crackers.

Crimdon is in County Durham ya cheeky fooker , nothing to do with Hartlepool
A slither of the walkway is in the Hartlepool area, but the majority is in Durham. The walkway was an idea of my late father a Blackhall councillor at the time. It would've been a bit spiteful to have ended the walkway at the county boundary , which is the part of the walkway that goes over Crimdon Dene. Since the paths inception in the mid 80s , I have walked it regularly and I can say hand on heart that the majority of people in Hartlepool didn't know it existed until around 10 years ago, now they probably account for the majority of its users, therefore deluding themselves that is actually their path.
Neither of these things can be said to belong or have anything to do with Hartlepool.

I only enjoy the slither of path in Hartlepool and the beach I’m referring to runs between crimdon and the arch at hart station so it’s in Hartlepool but called Crimdon beach. Can’t believe you are even arguing this on my top 5 reasons why I love Hartlepool. Why should I give a shite if people in Hartlepool dont know about the walkway?
