Another appointment internally. Talk about incestuous.
Needs someone from outside with new ideas and knowledge to shake the whole thing up. But would our councillors like this?

They need a new broom to sweep clean. Get some fresh blood in from outside with some drive and vision. The town’s been stagnating for years.

By all accounts the labour party voted against it and was voted for by the conservatives and the so called Independents who were UKIP/Brexit/Tory etc etc etc.
Dont know what the Labour councillors would have done though?

They probably did it just to be contrary. Anyway, they hardly covered themselves in glory by putting the departing compliant incumbent in post to begin with under the directorship of the now Socialist Labour defectors aka the masters of political pantomime.

There are not enough decent/clever people in Hartlepool , end of. Never has been , never will be, that is why the town struggles on all levels. You only have to look at the views of the majority on this message board to see what I am talking about. The town is a shit show , and if anything will only get worse not better.

That’ll explain how we stagnated for years then under various Labour Councils since the time of Stonehenge.
Drive through the collieries a lot and have never once thought we need the people who run these places down in Hartlepool. Odd that.

As for the views of the majority on here, you must mean Labour voters as they keep re-electing them.
I drive through the collieries a lot and have never once thought .....Whoa, we need the people who run these places down in Hartlepool. Odd that.

I suspect that if an outside person was appointed to the CEO/MD post and tried to put through some reforms the whole Civic Centre establishment would rise up against the person and they would not last long.
I often have my suspicions about Cleveland Police who seem to go through Chief Constables very quickly..........what is wrong with the force? Durham is held up as being a model force and merger rumours continue.

The people who give a town it’s direction are the Councillors. We have had until just recently, a Labour Council for decades. You are therefore dependent on the ability, managerial experience, drive and educational achievements of the ruling Party’s top Councillors.
I rest my case.
