Just wanted to ask why things have went so bad on here lately and indeed why mods arnt practicing what they preach? Also threads being locked when sensible respected posters like Mutley respond and get shut down? I have been on here for a long time so many others use this as a point to touch a part of home when we are exciles. I think this lock down and also brexit has brought out the worst in some and now scraping the gutter to how some respond. A lot of people on here I know from past and had a good laugh with and reasonable folk have been shot down or indeed just ignored by normal debate when other comments have been over looked. I think your stance of saying ok let’s draw a line under it is a good one but I think posters who are biggest people causing this really need to have a look at themselves.

I think asking people to consider the way they are behaving at the minute is very fair, we all need to do that. The Fat Man said that a few weeks ago and was correct to say what he did.

What isn't is trying to silence people because you don't like what they have to say.

Yupeb had his moderating rights removed for deleting a couple of posts from the person who by a country mile has been the worst offender on here over a the last few months consistently crossing the line and going way over the top whilst, making a string of wild and untrue accusations and even threats towards fellow posters. Since that same bloke has been made a moderator then allowed to ride roughshod deleting posts that don't contain abuse and even trying to ban two posters. Since the board reappeared hundreds (maybe thousands) of perfectly fair and reasonable posts have vanished for good. If Mr I can't see how hypocritical and wrong this all is then this forum is finished.

I am still waiting for him to show me all of my offensive posts. He made the accusation.

Posts referring to derwent as a idiot do not count. As that is factually correct.

To clarify I am not after an apology. Just an acceptance that making the real offender a moderator was wrong and designed to cause trouble.

Compo, firstly those posts haven’t disappeared, I moved them to the politics forum in an attempt to calm down the situation. Those threads that had become over fractious were moved not deleted. All the posts that were deleted contained abuse of one form or another.

As for Mutley, I locked that thread because it was following the same vane as pre shutdown and it didn’t add anything. It was an invitation to carry on where we left off which was exactly what I was trying to avoid.

By the way, I don’t claim to have a monopoly on wisdom but something had to be done. I did try asking nicely several times.

A couple of my posts disappeared that included nothing that could be described as abuse so to say that simply isn’t true.

To be fair to the mods (and I'm not taking sides here) but if you delete random posts that maybe abusive but leave unabusive replies then threads become messy so sometimes mass deletion is the best option.
Seen it happen on other boards I read and people generally accept the reasons behind mass deletion.

For gods sake this is so petty its like a schoolyard, if it matters that much to you whos right or wrong dont post simple.
