FFS

Seriously who would do that to the bloke though?

It seems more and more apparent that it was him who wanted out if he's using that as an excuse though. Maybe he didn't think they'd go for his proposed new role and was gutted when they did!!?

The headline should read 'Verrills opening times force out Richard Money'

People will use this as stick to beat the club with (again) but it's fairly clear the bloke had decided he had made a mistake coming here and wanted to engineer a route out, I think it's only him this reflects badly on. You can see why we went for someone with his track record.

If he was looking for a way out then he obviously wasn't looking forward to matching his walk with his talk and the question has to be asked why.
There is no doubt he has identified the malaise which a lot of people have said exists within the club. The worrying thing is that he obviously doesn't relish fixing that malaise.
Nobody should have to take abuse.
What will Raj's reaction be to that sort of behaviour???? He said he wanted the fans to cut him some slack and then this happens. Hopefully he'll put it down to an isolated incident.

He will be sending spies out to chip shops, he just needs the Verrills opening hours

It probably did happen but for him to walk off the back of one wag in a Fish and Chip shop (only at fucking Pools could I be writing those words  ) he clearly was looking for any excuse and he didn't have much stomach for his new role. That's not saying he deserved to be verbally abused, that it is totally out of order.

The Ineteresting thing is now after what was said the podcast about how important this role is with the challenges ahead how can they not replace him!?

I would hope that you are right but I don't think so.
How many times have we seen people on here and elsewhere bemoan the malaise within the club???
He was saying the same things about the infrastructure. He had already started with arranging meetings with the various factions within the club.
This incident is quoted as the reason he has gone but I would bet a pound to a piece of pigeon shit that it goes deeper than that.
We will probably never know but it will be interesting to see if the club put someone else into sorting out what Money said needed sorting out.
If he had realised that there was very little appetite for change and that there was a good chance he would be left high and dry then " any excuse will do" to get me out of here.
There's more to this.

I can see some merit in that Mr Derwent but look at his recent history he walked out on Solihull after 26 days, then talked his way out of the Pools job in 44 days, then walked out of his new job in less than a week. That points at him no longer having the appetite.

Or maybe he thought the role was genuine and needed (which I do personally) but he got the feeling he was merely working his notice period of three months from and he had no real scope to do what was needed or make the changes required. He doesn't strike me as someone who would hang around where he's not wanted just to save face.

So there is no need for an overhaul of the club's infrastructure, it was all made up???? I hope you are right but I doubt it somehow.

He’s a youth team coach who with due resident has never played professional football what do you think qualifies him as someone who could be director of Football/chief of operations??

Between 1973 and 197 Money played 173 times for Scunthorpe.

Between 1977 and 1980 he played 106 times for Fulham.

Then 14 times for Liverpool before moving to Luton then Portsmouth and back to Scunthorpe - playing 106 times between 1985 and 1990.

I remember him against Pools - and hated him.

A central defender for Scunthorpe - and he got frightened by a twat in a chippy? Really?

Now, anyone want to put forward the career of Mr Maguire? Let's start with the hotel in Cheltenham - or maybe the one in Sutton Coldfield...................

Not making any points here: just pointing out some facts.

If that is the reason he walked he was obviously looking for one very quickly. Again not excusing anyone who did give him grief.

Still nothing from Pools?

I would think Maguire and Hignett have a lot too answer for re the appointment of Money, they made a statement along the lines of as soon as they seen his CV they knew he was the man for the job !
Raj has only just said in the press that the club is stronger than it was 12 months ago, nope we are the laughing stock, full time club struggling to compete against part time teams with less funding than Pools.
How many teams in this league have a DOF, I think Hignett pulled the wool over Raj eyes saying the club needed one, being cynical it looks like he was looking after his own interests more so continually repeating he didn’t want the Managers job.
For me he didn’t want to put himself in the firing line knowing that the current squad are going nowhere.

Out of interest how many part time teams are in the Conference? It’s not as many as is made out. I read people trotting it out after the Harrogate game and they are full time as an example.

Also are you really suggesting that club isn’t stronger than it was 12 months ago when our kit was being held hostage by a fucking launderette!? Just think about where the club was 12 months ago.

This time last year we were in danger of going out of business, now we are not, so obviously we are stronger, but take that out, and I would say things are no better on and off the pitch.

No better off the pitch? Incredible.

This is what the chairman was speaking about.

Maybe he should be conning the club out of vast amounts of money or asset stripping it people might raise some money to pay his bills then!

Poor Richard Money, everyone's favourite grandad, everyones least favourite football manager. Gets more personal abuse than Nicola Sturgeon, his dour image further enhanced by eating fish and chips , won't have endeared him to the we want a young manager with shiny waxy hair , and a UEFA A coaching licence , who's shit hot on FIFA 19 , brigade.

Richard Moneys legacy will be that he exposed the club for what it is, an absolute shambles. Whatever people feel about him, no one can dispute, unless they are radged, and I suppose a lot of our fans are, that the issues he highlighted are real , poor training, poor recruitment, poor if none existent info on the opposition etc etc. The same very things that I have correctly been guessing weren't happening for donkeys years.

Anyway Brian, I want to know more about these hotels in Cheltenham and Sutton Coldfield

Thought he'd stay at least til the end of the season!
He's got the thinnest skin in football.
He kicked off with our fans (walsall) - kicked off with Luton Fans (although who hasn't) - was at Solihull for about 3 weeks and at the slightest argument in Hartlepool he's running out the chip shop before you can say "Guacamole and chips please!"
His management days are over.

His loss, one thing Hartlepool has got going for it, is some decent fish and chip shops

Because it's an easy option to attack the club.

The comment above about it being the same off the pitch now as last year is the final straw for me. Absolute nonsense and frankly insulting to the staff at the football club who were fearing for their jobs.

Will be much easier to read this place with blocks anyway.

I’ve literally just this very second finished listening to the podcast then read about Money. That’s 45 mins I’ll never get back.

Again he said a load of things that made sense but completely failed to mention overseeing some abject performances. Proper ego on him.

It's time everyone connected to the club raise the expectation level now so we can have a serious challenge of goin for promotion bak to the league next season.
Being happy with bills getting paid shud not be an excuse for failure on the pitch.
Or the fact that Wrexham have been out the league for so long. I don't give a fcuk about them Welsh fcukers..
Cheers Raj n Rachel n trust n all our fans for saving our club n Jeff Stelling.

But we all need to draw a line under what's gone on in the last few seasons and look to the future which is promotion from this division ASAP.
Up The Pools.

Listening to the podcast , it seems the revised timescale for promotion is now 5-10 years not 18mths or 3 years , which at the moment seems realistic.
