Anyone have any idea how many of the 2,300 tickets “sold” so far have actually been paid for?

It appears impressive but I know a couple of people who have “brought” under 12 tickets for a 4 and 6 year old just because they are free but think they probably won’t use them.

Wonder how paid tickets compare to last year.

I'm sure we sold 2600 last year.
Looks like we could surpass that figure this year.
Still brilliant support even with the free kids deal.
3500+ for the first game!

Northumberland's original question still stands though, how many have we actually 'sold'? It's very misleading to say we've 'sold' 2700 when in fact we've given hundreds away for free - especially when the one thing we NEED from the club right now is transparency at every level.

We've had enough 'duping' going on in the last few years to last a lifetime, we don't need more from the new regime.

There's no attempt to mislead. For those interested, we've sold 417 Under-12s Season Tickets. Many of them were existing Under-16 Season Ticket holders.

Excellent, thanks for the clarification Mark - your response goes a long way to proving that this is very much a new era and the Club is being transparent - and it is much appreciated. Good numbers all round then!

Cheers Mark - I don’t think there were suggestions of being deliberately misled, think it was more just to gain some clarity

2,700 + is therefore a fantastic figure for season tickets with 2,300 + generating revenue. Well done to the fans and to the club for introducing the incentive in the first place.

So all in all, however you dress it up, cos 2800 including lots of kids, will come October , if things not going well , we are back to the dark days of the late 90s, with crowds just above the 2000 mark. It really is up to the players.

Its good to see you've used your time away from the board to reinvent yourself    It's good to see you posting again though.

As Mr Simpson said and I suggested in another thread most of the free kids will have been existing season ticket holders so incredibly given how bad last year was the take up has been very similar, and in terms of numbers factually better. You always get less midweek with kids being at school and shift workers being at work ect being at work and even in depths of last season with no away support the crowds never got that low. Our support is excellent, as you say it's over to the players but they'll be the difference between 2,700-3,200 to 4000+ not 2,000 or just above.

I don't get the agenda this summer from some though, it's new start, why are people trying to overplay how many free season tickets have been 'sold' 417 (the actual amount) is the lowest figure I have seen said have been sold since they went on sale by some.

Cheers PJ , I am if nothing consistent in my views/thoughts. Not trying to be deliberatley negative , just trying to dampen down ( what you allude to yourself ) this thing about the season tickets. Every pre-season its the same old thing, record sales etc. Maybe its because I'm getting on in years, but I'm to old to fall for this old pre-season bollocks, whether its ST sales or the fam dabby dozy players we have signed ( people were saying the same this time last year) but the only thing that matters is doing the business were it matters ( on the pitch).

PS. I have bought a ST , first time in 5 seasons.

Noble and Davies are the best two signings we have made in years, absolutely the right types in terms of quality and mentality. Over a longer period if we are recruiting players like that and the club is stable off the field we are starting to get on the right track.

No problem with those two, if we had signed them 2 or 3 years ago , we may not be in this mess, I just hope they can be managed well, if so , no reason why Noble can't be the player we build around over next 5 years in our attempt at getting back into the FL , league 1 even. He could even go on to become future coach or manager if managed well. Of course that is the big IF , its not as though we have form for making players better.

To keep the 417 kids coming each week it is vital that good quality chips/hot dogs are available as well as a Haribo stall and other assorted junk food.
X Box docking stations and charging points essential too!

I will stick with my knitting and jigsaw and balti pie.

We still have a few weeks to go before the season starts. Last year after the deadline past we went on to sell another 100 to 150 so we may even get to 3000 yet.
