Adam Boyd in terms of his performances for Pools and impact at the highest level we have played at. For 18 months he was my best Pools player ever never mind Hartlepool born.

From the central estate and by far the most successful and famous footballer this town has ever produced and probably ever will in the future...John McGovern. I know he lived in Hartlepool from a very young age but can anyone confirm he was born here?

John McGovern was born in Montrose and moved to Hartlepool when he was 7.

Where are the Bobby Folland's these days?

I believe he scored 100 goals one season playing for Seaton HT before being picked up by Pools.

Also never called but my Dad had a trial. They invited him back for training but the money was terrible in those days and he found the lure of an apprenticeship in Gray's drawing office too strong to resist.

My grandad played for the town schoolboy team, and was offered an apprenticeship by Boro when he left school. However the cost to travel to training every day was quite high and wouldn't have left much of his wage left. So he took a job at the docks instead, I think in the timber yard.
