I’d make Liverpool clear favorites for the Champions League, the standard has been like a mid table SPL clash when neither side are ‘on it’ How are Real Madrid winning? They have been shit. Neither will live with Liverpool’s pace and tempo.

It's been an awful standard. I think Bayern drafted in Scott Harrison for Real's 2nd goal.

Liverpool aren't there yet and Real have had a very shit season by their standards yet still look likely to make the final.

You can tell the Bundesliga is in it's summer unwind now. With the winter break and the season ending in March, when do German teams actually bother with competitive football?

There is no doubt that the German national team is significantly better than the English team. My point is that their league is not competitive enough for Munich to win the Champions League. It is no surprise they always storm to the semis, then struggle. That is when they lose all momentum in the league, because they take the foot off the pedal. The Spanish teams are dominating the European trophies at the minute, and that is because they are competing in the league down to the last weeks.

How are the Spanish teams competing in the league when effectively Barca won the title about three months ago?

Liverpool's league must still be wide open too as they're all but in the final.
