Totally agree on both counts.

Had we played with that spirit and effort in (most of) our previous games, we would surely have many more points on the board. This refers more to the majority of the goals we have conceded as we are, obviously, still needing a greater return up front.

I really can't recall such a shite performance from a ref before and there have been many contenders!

If a ref was any good he would not be in charge of games at the fifth level of English football. We have to accept poor standards of everything when competing at such a low level.

A fair point and totally accepted but he took the word "Poor" to a new level.

Theres still some decent refs at these levels and some right cock ends. The one we had yesterday was terrible and always is when we have him, its all about him.
Yet theres refs like Lucy Oliver, not only a bit tasty but also a very good ref that lets the game flow. Unfortunately she was denied a promotion because the FA think she's not harsh enough (aka not earning them enough money in fines) but hopefully she will move up the levels as she deserves. Cant believe people like Trevor Kettle are still plying their trade at a higher level.

It was £100 when I did it, I started off doing kids games just to get a feel for it. You actually get more pelters from parents than anything else, that’s not the reason I stopped but I imagine a lot would stop due to the grief. There is no support at games for a young ref at all.
