All businesses have a wages clerk whose job it is to pay wages after deductions such as Tax and NI have been accounted for. The deductions are then banked in a separate account until the tax man requires it and is then duly paid. A similar procedure should be followed with VAT. The basics of accounting yet with a company run by a supposed qualified accountant these simple rules have not been followed. Also bad practices involving payments to small local companies have resulted in "shirt Gate" and the desire to no longer do business with the club and a stain on it's reputation locally. So what does our chairman do hold business forums at the club's expense without any value to the club. Thoughts please!!

That’s what anybody with any sense would do but the dedications have been used for some thing else or after they paid the wages there was nothing left aside for NI and Income Tax.

I agree with Jamie 1952, but surely if money for tax and NI was deducted from wages and not paid to the tax man this is missappropriation of taxes and there for a criminal offence.Remember this is how the American IRS got AL Capone.
