I didn't know he was at Halifax now. Hasn't played much since he left Pools. I always liked him and have no idea what if anything went on behind the scenes, but I always thought his old man thought he was far too good for Pools, used to see him at every away game that I attended and he was like one of those pushy dads watching their 7 year old playing on a park field.

Nah

"No Matty Brown, no Martin Riley, no Michael Duckworth, no Ben Tomlinson, no Matty Kosylo. The fear was that meant no chance for Heath’s depleted and out-of-form squad.

Both his mum and dad went to most if not every game as I would if I had a lad that played football professionally.

Pushy Dad, nah just parents that followed their son.

(I've edited my post after reading back what you said again....)

Re-sign him, as I think Magnay is always going to be liable to pick up injuries

I know you can never have enough right backs but I'd rather use a wage on some quality further up the field. We have enough cover defensively. He must be injured as well if he's not getting a game for Halifax?

I always thought he was a bit over rated but his confidence took a nosedive when Ronnie Moore decided he wasn't good enough defensively to play full back and either was played out of position, left out all together, or didn't cross the half way line when he did play there. That was what his game was all about having an engine and a bit of energy to bomb forward, not the most skilful player but he had the strength and pace to go past a man. He never looked like a winger who could play directly up against a full back he needed space overlap and run onto the ball.

Don't get me wrong, I like seeing families of players supporting them, I just felt there was always an undertone of Duckworth being badly done to, and being badly managed and I (without evidence) think thats the reason he rejected our contract offer and went to Fleetwood.

But, what do I know?!
