Neymar for £200m?! They'll no doubt make that back over the course of his time in Paris and he needed to step out of Messi's shadow but what a mental fee.

At least if he's worth that any future bids for Amond will have to take it into account.

This article puts it into perspective - it's the TV rights which we all know is to blame.

https://www.investmentweek.co.uk/invest ... -inflation

"The special ingredient so far missing from this analysis, however, is Premier League television rights.

In the same way London house prices have increased significantly faster over the last 25 years or so than the headline inflation numbers would suggest, so have the amounts television companies have been willing to fork out for the right to show Premier League matches.

So while, adjusted for headline inflation, the £38m Sky paid for Premier League TV rights in 1992-93 would roughly equate to £75m today, Sky and BT are currently stumping up £1.72bn a season. That means what we might call 'TV rights inflation' - which is of course the increase in revenue the clubs have received - has been 16.4% a year.

Adjusting for that, rather than headline inflation, we find the 1992-93 Blackburn purchase of Shearer to be worth £162m"

And the £15million Newcastle paid for him translates into £367million, using the same principles

What a waste of a career. He'll win absolutely bugger all with Paris St German.

Still, he'll be rich, so that must be good for everybody.

He'll win Ligue Uuuurghn every season surely?

I'm assuming his main motivation is money but if he wants to break Messi/Ronaldo's goal scoring records he's probably got a better chance of doing so in France, oui?

If he wants to break goal scoring records he should go to Japan or somewhere.
As for winning Ligue 1 Conforama, they'll have to get past Monaco first. PSG are a shite fabricated team (founded a mere 113 years after Sheffield FC) who are gleefully proving it's not money that makes a club big.
