I am seriously considering joining the Labour party.

Never felt this strongly before. Is it right that its just £4 per month?

And does it make a difference. If that isnt a daft question?

I've been considering this too. And a fair few of my mates are as well.

Interested to hear about it.

It says so here :

https://join.labour.org.uk/

Personally I just pay the lot in one go, I find it less hassle, suppose you do what suits your personal situation.

Only you can make the difference, by getting involved and influencing change. I always say if it wasn't for people prepared to be members of political parties, then its quite possible we wouldn't have a democracy as such, so fair play to those that are I say.

Great idea though Colonel, come and join us.

I joined before the 2015 leadership election, I thought if I'm going to vote for the party I might as well have a say in the way it is ran.

I get a lot of emails, updates, dates of local party meetings, fundraisers, other events local and national, and how to apply to stand as a candidate. Obviously with the election there was a lot of volunteering opportunities from basic canvassing and posting leaflets to connecting to their servers and manning phones from the comfort of your own home.

A day or two after it was announced that we'd be having an election they sent out a survey asking members opinions on what our priorities are and what we wanted we did and didn't want including in the manifesto.

It may not have the big donors like the Tories but Labour does have more members than every other party combined and is still growing. It's the hard work of ordinary people that made the difference in many areas in the election and will ultimately be what helps Labour back into power.

Spot on !

The party isn't perfect , far from it, don't like selection panels for instance where potential candidates are vetted, which in New Labour days usually meant the left wing candidate didn't get past the panel, but hopefully under Corbyn things will get back to how they used to be. You cant change nothing from the outside,
