My neighbour had his caravan stolen from a holding field at Crimdon last Saturday (20th) early hours, 3 scrotes in a Pajero, heading off in the Hartlepool direction. If anybody see's someone whose suddenly adopted a Luna Lexon twin axle in white with a blue/green stripe and a Red Indian sticker on the back please pm me, thanks. Although it may not be locals more than likely travellers.

Chances are it's headed to Appleby Fair.

A few scumbags, offered to clean my brother in laws drive the other week, he gave them an initial 70 quid, with the rest ( a couple of hundred quid ) upon completion of the job. It was clear very early on that they didn't have a fookin clue what they were doing, so my bro in law called a halt to proceedings.

The scumbags, threatened my bro in law with violence unless they were paid, fortunately he held firm, and they then backed off, but said the would be back the following day for the money, and if they didn't get it, his caravan parked on the drive would be torched. My Sister and Bro in law were crapping themselves and moved the caravan out of the village and sat up all night expecting to be attacked.

I myself would of guessed they were full of wind and piss , and so it proved, as they never did come back, but apparently according to the polis this happens all the time, and that those responsible are based primarily around the Wheatley Hill area.

I watched a neighbour at my former address entertain these 'professionals' in drive repair, you know the type one cocky frontman, van with made up name, redundant mobile no. etc, while he was out at work they dug out most of the top soil, not all as required, whacked in the dolly, poorly laid blocks, hence a year or two later it was bathed in weeds. These people have only one agenda.....robbing people of their hard earned money.

On a slight aside, I remember hearing a story from an Old Bloke I know; where he was called regularly from a Conservatory Company. In the end he gave in and they sent a salesman out to give him a quote. The Salesman wasn't happy turning up at a first floor flat, but the Old Bloke had tried to tell em!

If one of the scrotes said "it's for me ma" they're definitely travellers.

Here's a question - at what point did travellers become mostly Irish? I don't recall them ever being in Hartlepool up to the mid-90s when I left. The only ones I had ever seen were New Age Travellers at festivals, who mostly seemed to be public school drop out types.

I remember as a kid Romanies knocking on the door to sell lucky heather and pegs and so on, but they definitely weren't from the emerald isle.

Then when I moved down here, I heard the term 'pikey' for the first time and became aware of gangs of gadgies doing driveways for people talking in watered down Oirish accents.

Driving to Barrow yesterday and going from the A66 to Kirkby Stephen there's caravans and horses tethered on the narrow grass verges with police warning signs. Why are they there presenting a danger in the first place?
And while I'm having a rant, how come every suicidal driver on the A590 from the M6 to Barrow was driving a Merc, Audi or BMW ....do Getman top end cars come with built in suicidal arrogance?
