Newport have got a winner away at Crewe mind.

Shouldn't matter too much hopefully. If anything, just pushes Crewe further down.

We have now lost 6 in a row away from home and we only have 1 win from the last 14 away matches.

So it's off to Cambridge United on Tuesday night. Pools record there since the first ever meeting: Pools away record v Cambridge United: P18 W2 D4 L12 F13 A37 PTS 10. The last win in August 1998 2-1 and the other one in September 1995 1-0. Ah well old sparring partners Crewe Alex look likely to be fighting it out with us down there. Just like old fourth division days really I suppose.

Sitting here totally bemused at theBates situation. Why not come out and say if he is injured? Mind you it just shows how much they must rate Pollock.

Think they did confirm he was injured before the game.

Although something I have recently been told about his recent 'injury' further highlights his attitude and commitment, and I for one won't be sad to see him go in the summer if he gets released.

First match this season, took grandsons to their first pools game. Some observations

The good
Fans never stopped singing, very courteous to my young grandsons although many missed their first goal still drinking at half time
Never saw Featherstone pass anything backwards
Harrison immense but overwhelmed

The bad
Huge hole at centre of defence never properly filled
All of the defence at some point got caught with the ball keeping pressure on us
Oates reaches balls he shouldn't but is too knackered to do anything constructive with it
If Fryer had stood up instead of diving through the shot he would have stopped the 2nd goal
Nathan has been told to be less selfish and spent most of match giving first time passes to teammates in no better positions with less ability. Beat someone then pass first time
Hawkins incredibly slow

2nd match at Cambridge, not hopeful
