Hearing one of the management team and one of the players might be London bound ( different clubs) . This one came from a strange source but makes some sense from a development and economic point of view. I don't live or work in the town so was wondering what the word in Pools is? This is not a trolling. Think it might be genuine info. Anybody else hearing the same?

No. He's not. No connections with London or the Sth-East.

Thought the player might have been Josh Laurent returning South?

I do hope the big news people seem to be going on about isnt just two people leaving.

If the people saying it think this is big news then they are pretty dense.

Fleming hasn't helped the defence at all. Doubt he'd be missed. Not sure who the player is as my guess would of been Laurent, who started at Wycombe, which to us northerners is London.

Yes- Fleming to QPR is what I heard tonight over in Darlo of all places. The player is Thomas and a possible transfer.

£750k was the figure quoted in the convo tonight and yes Charlton was the club noted although so was interest from other clubs.

Charlton are in absolute turmoil and don't have a pot to piss in do they?

Plus he's injured plus the window doesn't open for another three weeks.

It's seems unlikely taking all of that into consideration.

Anybody watching our pathetic defence over the last few weeks would need to be in a fucking TRANCE to take on either Curtis Fleming or Toto.

Good Luck if it's true...a Defensive Coach who can't, coupled with a Defender who makes Tommy Sword look composed....

Mental

Could be a good time to promote Jones to coach?

This could prove difficult.

I heard at Port Vale when he went down they quickly erected one of those white screens around him for the crowd to hear a single gunshot shortly after.

The only thing he'll be of use to is the glue factory.

On no! How ever is our defensive going to manage without his coaching and expertise?

Get stuck in Sam.

Says Sam only stepping up this Saturday, sounds like a replacement is imminent.
Fleming's defensive coaching was obviously too good for us so I don't think any of us will object to him going.
I expect we'll see our defence's performances deteriorate from this point on.

Rob Jones will get the job, money is obviously tight so they might as well save a wage.

I fail to see how this one provokes that reaction, a better job opportunity has came up on probably miles better money he was bound to take it. He was hardly a vital cog in a well oiled machine here was he I mean our back four have been playing by like they are well oiled granted.

I think it will be Colin Cooper it's who Higgy wanted as first choice only to blocked by Russ Green because of the expected fan reaction. He's not here now to block it.

Cooper will have a nice easy job at the FA, can't see him coming back to Pools. Higgy needs some experience alongside him, would love to see Wadsworth but can't see it happening.

Maybe this is the big announcement and the mortgage was to pay QPR to take Fleming off us before he could do any more harm.

I thought that was aimed at Sam Collins getting the job, albeit on a temporary basis.

Hello Chip. Good to see you back.

Re the thread: why is it that manager-people in football are nearly always people who can't manage football teams? And why is it that when a team gets a new manager, fans nearly always think that this time we've got someone who really can manage? I mean. what does it all mean.....?

Some managers clearly are very good at what they do, some are right at the right club(think Eddie Howe) and others are good at the right time(Ronnie kept us up and was what we needed at the time, Neale Cooper in his first spell was a perfect fit but sadly got found out on his return).

I suppose fans just need hope things will get better, proof being Newcastle fans who turn up regardless.

Qpr have got a cracking defensive coach their. They obviously watched the game last week and thought without the sterling work he had done, those clowns would of lost by ten. As for managers being set up to fail at pools its certainly a job not for the feint hearted, surely though hignett should be doing better. When was the last time we signed anyone with 35 goals in a season? Even if it was in the league below, have possibly the best keeper in the league and probobly one of the best wingers. Its a shame the midfield and defence isnt up to scratch, but he has had free reign to change things.

He hardly has a 'free reign' does he we aren't Manchester City? That's a ridiculous comment. He has decisions to make within the confines of a pretty tight budget. A couple of those especially in defensive areas look to be errors at the moment. At least one better centre half for the wages Harrison and Jones are would look a better move in hindsight.

As for calling people 'clowns' and the like ffs it's a game of football I'm not sure why people have to get personal there's far more important things going on in the World and certain things happen in life that stop you giving a single fuck about football in an instant. This is the third Championship club that Fleming has been employed by all with different managers so he clearly has a bit of respect in the game and I'd imagine has forgotten more about football than someone like spouting off because you enjoy it knows.

It's inevitable that people will be feeling down about Pools after the last few weeks but almost worse than the results is having to read unconstructive, tiresome diatribe from people like you who seem to revel in defeats and misery then go missing when we win.

Chill out pj. People revelling in getting beat. Get a grip man. You would soon get board of revelling in defeat being a pools fan. We should be doing better with this side, whether we have no money or not, their is some decent players their. So you believe we have improved defensively with fleming then?

I'm perfectly chilled out thanks you are the one who's been banging your gums for months, we haven't been 'under Fleming' have we he's part of it yes but loads of factors come into play when you consider out defensive record this season personal, injuries, suspensions, tactics. I suppose you know better though and QPR are employing a 'clown' I don't really get the logic that because someone was a good defender his coaching will automatically result in a watertight defence!?

I'm not sure what the point in that question is to honest or how you could properly answer it.

Am I losing sleep at his departure? No not really. I'm just tired of reading pointless negativity.

Pointless negativity. We have lost 3-0 4-0 and 5-0 in our last three games. So tell me the positives. Not in the bottom 2?
