Was impressed with the Germans like took the defeat on the chin, best bit was like most teams in there position even at 3 3 they kept going for it and never took the piss wasting time. Good luck to them.

Watched first half and thought not much chance despite looking on top after the 2 goals, checked the score at 1-3 and thought definitely no way back now.
I did consider a bet on Liverpool at half time 7-1 at 2-0 down didn't seem that great though.

But they're the only people to have died ever, we must remember them! Newcastle have tried to jump on the band wagon by clapping every game to remember them two fans who died on that plane crash.

Aye, fucking moaning bastards, wish they would give it a rest about their dead sons, daughters, wifes, husbands, nieces, nephews and friends and the police coverup that followed

No fans, despite that arsehole of paper saying so, committed any crime that day, but the police did

Read the official coroners report, not the fucking Sun, not one of the dead didn't have a ticket, read the lies about the time of death, read the lies about the dead being pick pocketed or urinated on

I cannot for the life of me imagine how any football fan who went to football at the time of this hideous event can believe the shite the Sun continued to pedal right up to the past couple of years

Some brilliant footage floating about of the disabled section in front of the kop when the winner goes in, loads of scousers rising like Lazarus out of wheelchairs going mental as the winner goes in! A miracle!!

Onto Hillsborough they've already said that today's service will be the last at Anfield. That's because the families are finally going to get some justice delivered and some wrongs righted regarding the deaths of their loved ones. I suppose it would be incredibly difficult to find closure on the matter whilst having an overwhelming sense of injustice. Unimaginably difficult I'd say.
All of those who campaigned for all of those years and had to put up with insensitive ignorant 'let it go' or 'move on' comments have finally been proven right, an injustice did take place and things were covered up. Had these people simply 'let it go' something truly scandalous have stayed covered up and distorted forever. Well done to them I say. I just hope those responsible are now made accountable.

The first 10 minutes of Liverpool v Dortmund was the most traumatising experience since the opening sequence of Saving Private Ryan.

It doesn't take much to deduce that the "miracle " on the front row of the kop was the carers jumping up, not the person with an amputated leg....

I understand the 96 families will never forget, but every scouser friend I have bleats on about it every year, a lot of people who weren`t born go on like they were there, I hope they get some sort of closure and move on with a payout or some type of memorial and the rest can then shut up and sit down.

$COU$£R$.

You can't replace a loved one, but you can replace the dodgy oven...

A memorial would be a nice touch from the proceeds of that payout though.

Unless you've lost a kid or a loved one under the circumstances that they did, i dont think you can really say "just let it go and move on"

Imagine your son or daughter going to pools today, with their mates, as they normally do off to watch the footy, and the dont return, and its someone elses fault, and it gets covered up.

Some very fuckin weird comments on this thread, a few of you should be ashamed.

If what Yubep described happened to me I hope I wouldn't have to stand on my own.

People bang on about classic matches, players, seasons and nobody has an issue with it, yet when there's a police cover-up and the characters of the dead are assassinated, they should 'let it lie'?

Christ.

More insults from worst contributor in the Bunkers history.

If the justice campaign had not kept the campaign in the public eye with the memorial every year then maybe, in fact almost certainly they wouldn't have achieved what they have. As has been stated by a few people now on this thread yesterday is the last time they are ever going to do that service at Anfield which tells you it's motives.

Truly staggering thread, how football supporters can still bash Liverpool supporters is beyond me. They are not looking for a payout, they are looking for the truth and justice.

I have lost friends over this subject, a few people I don`t know isn`t going to make me sleep less at night!

There are some real drama queens on hear who love to sensationalize topics, NOBODY has criticized the family or the enquiry, the family will grieve forever, however the rest of the Liverpool supporting world, to them it is something that happened many years ago, some not alive at the time, yet they go on as if they were there, perhaps it is the Facebook generation!

One last go here;

I can't see anyone being a 'drama queen' here but if you seriously think the families alone could had achieved what the Justice for the 96 campaign has and you can't see the link between the enquiry and Liverpool fans and football fans as a whole keeping the story in the public eye then God help you.

Any campaign needs wider public support, this can only be achieved by the story remaining in newspapers and at the forefront of peoples thoughts.

As has already been said after this year they are taking a step back and not holding the memorial service, because they will have hopefully achieved what they set out for; justice.

Going back to the match, I actually went with a mate who had a spare ticket and I have to admit, it was an unbelievable atmosphere. Best game of football I've witnessed (outside of the fourth division obviously). Klopp is brilliant and I think he really articulates what makes football brilliant. Dortmund were incredible first half and it was shear will power from team and fans that got them through. Pools can do that in our own way next year- it feels like the club and fans are much more united now. Can't wait till next year.

Beautifully put Phil - I've only been to Liverpool once and I feel no affinity for the place, but there's something strong about the place and it's people, a community ethos and you summed it up there. Walking out en masse to protest against the the increase of season tickets as well - that worked too. We should be respectful and learning from them.

I lived in Liverpool for four years and been to Anfield a fair few times. You can say what you want about Scousers but they love their football and community and something lovely about that. They are very much like people from the north east and Mr Butt having lived their I can assure you that the people your hammering should be applauded.

Their anthem sums it up really and the 96 should never have had any bad word said about them.

This is what i hate about modern football fans, mostly of premier league clubs, mr butt only thinks this way because hes a man united fan, n it fuckin stinks that you can have that attitude over the unjustified death of nearly 100 people, sons, daughters, dads... just because you support another team.
