After Gayle made us look stupid, SA have just got to 50 in under 4 overs.

And we managed to drop a simple catch.

And as I type, another 4.

Its not over yet, but bloody hell, our bowlers are not very good are they?

And before I finished that last sentence, another 4.

Oh dear. and another.

62 for 0 after 4.3 overs.

Oh very dear.

The seam bowling is county 2nd XI trundler standard. How is Chris Jordan still playing International cricket he's like a spray gun? Wiley is never going to be an international bowler floating them down at less than 80 mph half of the time.

They didn't pick Stuart Broad when he was busting to go!! Last time we played them in a T20 they were 88 for 0 after 6 so we are showing signs of improvement. Good idea picking exactly the same bowling attack after that stpid

Mind the pitches in Nagpur and Dharasalama have been the polar opposite, 120 has looked a good score. This pitch looks a belter and I've been to the Wankhede and it's a very small ground so 250 shouldn't be a problem to chase down

De Villiers out we could keep this to 230/40 now.

Seriously if we keep it to less than 220 with our batting we are still in the game at this ground.

I think your point about our bowling is spot on PJ. I think England need to try and bat second every time if they win the toss to rely on the batting

Oh it was awful alright at any standard of cricket the captain has set a leg side field regarding the two out of the circle and obviously wants them to bowl straight and they are offering up ball after ball wide of off stump. If an International bowler has that little control of line they should be nowhere near that level. The three seamers are nowhere near international standard.

well the commentators saying we are bowling better now.

But still going at 12 runs per over.

I got the point about the ground and the pitch, but the bowling has been garbage. Possibly the worst bowling ever.

Just think howbad it could have been if england had picked that young kid Broad, rather than Jordan.

Ooooo and now AMler gone.

we just seem very unprofessional. The basics seem to be lacking.

Awful performance so far. Easily the worst of any fielding side to date

To say that was a rank bad bowling and fielding performance from England would be a massive understatement

There must be better bowlers around than Jordan and Topley.

Broad, Anderson, Woakes, Me?

England have now conceded three of the six highest T20 international scores in history.

They aren't a bad fielding side at all we've had far worse (some of the best fielders in the World in Stokes and Jordan in the team) those mistakes come from being under the cosh, when the ball is going around the park catches get dropped and people misfield.

Its weird but when it comes to cricket you are one hell an apologist.

That was appalling. Read any media comments and you will see for yourself.

You are only as good as your last game. The bowlesr are rank and the same people made the most fielding mistakes.

Hopefully Buttler rescues them.

Like someone has just said on the BBC, England had 4 years to prepare for thisand came upwith Topley and Jordan.

I could twat their bowling. And even if I hit it in the air, some daft fucker in the field would spill the catch.

You couldn't 'twat their bowling' you are being ridiculous. I'm not being an apologist, I'm just not a shouty Piers Morgan like drama queen. I think the bowling is dreadful I've said how bad it is in this thread. But they aren't 'unprossfesional' or a bad fielding side after 20 bad overs though. It often happens to a fielding side when you are under that much pressure.

They've played some good white ball cricket over the last 12 months and been praised for the improvements they've made. The seam bowling needs addressing massively though, the rest of the team is full of potential.

A terrible shot!?

He couldn't have hit it any harder. Like a tracer bullet that would have went for a flat six, I wish I could play terrible shots like that

Always the problem when you chasing such a big score you can go too hard and lose wickets, still England would have more than taken this.

Joe Root must be the best all round batter in the world now.

I find the best all round batter is this-

300ml plain flour
300ml cornflour
6 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of bicarb
Lager and sparkling water

mix dry, add wet, whisk to a consistency of thrush and leave in fridge until needed.

Maybe though on reflection even though our bowling was poor, bowling seam wasn't the easiest in this game!?

Dale Steyn isn't a bad bowler to be fair, he was trusted with two overs and those two overs went all around the park.

Root the best England batsman I've seen in my life time, in any situation in any conditions against any opposition you'd want him at the crease.

And to top it all my mate from work popped up presenting the MOM award to Joe Root. He told me he was going yesterday because Nissan are a main sponsor of the event and he is based in our Chennai factory but he kept that quiet

Root was amazing but Roy's contribution has almost been forgotten in all of that, being 48 for 0 after 14 balls of the innings was a staggering start and set up what followed.

Nasser has just said he thinks Root is England's best batsman of all time in all forms of the game. Big statement but one that's very hard to argue with.

The start set the game up though no argument about that, even Hales as well as Roy (despite being dropped first ball)

A great game, with no coverage at all on free to air tv. That has to take its toll on the game?

Free to air tv? Is there such a thing?

Surely you mean licence tax TV.

It is a truly ancient concept of having to buy a licence to watch a tv. When you dont even need a tv to watch it.

At least with sky and bt you have a choice.
