Barring a minor miracle, will be out of the League at the end of the season for a second time.

Bad news for many reasons. The York fans I speak to at work are all sound as a pound but likewise are all resigned to "starting again...again" as it were.

Can it be done twice? Drop out, come back, drop out, come back AGAIN?

I have my doubts.

Will be a massive shame if they go down purely for the reason it's a cracking away day.

Can't really see them coming straight back up, unless kerching is put in. There's comparatively a lot of money being put in the Conference, look how many ex league clubs (still pro) and how many former "Amateur" clubs are now pro? Compare that to the few clubs who are still "Part time".

The Conference seems to be a mix of up and coming clubs with investment or a grave yard for former league clubs. Sad but IMHO true.

If they are going to do it they need to start on Saturday with a win at Wimbledon - won't be easy for them.

Stevenage are in free fall at present, still a long way to go for all concerned in the bottom 6 or 7.

Unfortunate, but they're down there. If we're to survive I want all the clubs around us to do badly, not a time for wishing those around us well.

This time last season we put a run of 4 consecutive wins and a draw together. If we could do it then surely somebody else could? That 8 point gap looks nice right now but can quickly become 5 and then 2. We just need to keep doing what we are doing and not become complacent.

13 points in 5 games from one of the others down at the bottom would be horrid. But we are over half way through a little run the same as that, now.

There are a few of us still in the crap.

We can't afford to get complacent that is true but we have 12 games left compared to Dagenham's 9 and York's 10 if we'd have played as many games as them replicating our points per game for the season we'd be around the 39 point mark, I honestly can't see either of the bottom two getting to 40 points on current form, I can't see Stevenage getting to 40 points on current fo either. I'm not even looking down I think we finish with around 50 points.

I think we'll finish about 16th to be honest, we've got a good manager and we're getting results.

Barnet did it and didnt Halifax do it too in the 90s?

I've always been quite relaxed if we went down as I thought it would be good to get to some new grounds but a Grimsby fan at work reminds me regularly how desperate it is down there and how desperate they are to get back.

"YORK City Football Club is surprised and disappointed to learn that Michael Coulson has signed a pre-contract with St Johnstone.

The Club is particularly disconcerted with the timing of this announcement.

The Club hopes that Michael Coulson is still committed to his current employer and is focused on York City’s fight for Football League survival. "

Unusual statement from them - not sure if they have done it due to being hugely annoyed with him, or if it's a psychological ploy to get him to perform.

I'd be really pissed off if it was a pools player but I guess sometimes we have to remember they won't be on huge salaries and if he is out of contract in the summer he'll want the security now. He isn't doing anything against the rules.

The Fail have got an interview with Scott Flounders saying that Pools aren't safe and he wouldn't have a problem sending us down if it meant York stay up.

Well up to a point Scott, it's in your hands...

There's also another super-confident interview from Craig Hignett, who is "looking up" and won't have it that the relegation dogfight is anything to do with Pools.

Great motivational stuff, and I'm sure all the players feel as tall as Rob Jones at the minute.

Just as well none of them have been at the Vic all that long, they won't know how many times in the past Pools have snatched an end of season crisis out of the jaws of complacency.

I might be wrong but I am sure Lincoln have done it twice.

Barnet have been promoted THREE times, though obviously the first one wasn't after being relegated. Lincoln have only done it once. Halifax have only done it once.

The only historical league clubs (those in the FL before the Conference gates first opened) who have made it back into the FL are Lincoln, Darlington, Colchester, Halifax, Donny, Chester, Shrewsbury, Sheep Shagger Utd., Hereford, Exeter, Torquay, Oxford, York, Mansfield, Newport, Luton, Cambridge, Bristol Rovers. That's 18, and six of those are now out of the league again.

Add to them Grimsby, Tranmere and Wrexham, who've gone down and so far not made it back up, plus a few others not even at Conference level, and you get the picture. For an awful lot of teams, it's a bit of a one-way trip.

He might have thought so, but it probably squirted through into the net.

They could well survive, but it won't be at our expense.

What have Tranmere Rovers, Shrewsbury, Crewe and Hereford Utd in common?

If you knock on the door of no.27 Arbuthnot Street in Hounslow, Middlesex and say the code word 'wangker'... your prize awaits.
