He cetainly had a superb 1970s. Not many people keep changing style but knocking out top quality albums and singles for a decade.

I didn,t realise he had been ill. Just read it now and my jaw dropped. He made some great songs especially in his early days, songs that still sound fresh today and will live on. R.I.P. David Bowie. :(

Drove up to Scotland today, and he was on the radio all day. I'd forgotten how many really good songs he recorded, across decades. Made the drive tolerable.

True legend, RIP

Saw him at Roker Park back in 1987.

He came down to the stage from some form of spacecraft and announced "hello Newcastle!" which went down like a lead balloon. The crowd were soon won back over but I still chuckle at that today.

Yes because he was way ahead of the rest of us back in the 70s and understood the system and refused to be part of the bullshit! A total one off artist who had so much more to give but sadly passed away to soon. A one off genius and a true gentleman R.I.P. sadx
