Could be yet another opportunity for the lads to embarrass themselves, the club and the town on a big stage. And no prizes for guessing whom any 'neutral' barcodes will be supporting.

When I lived up there I knew plenty of Newcastle fans who had a soft spot for Pools, certainly more than seemed interested in Carlisle or the Loids. Fair number of Premier League obsessed fools as well but I don't think they'd turn up to see a fourth division match even if it was on their doorstep.

Think it takes more than just clearing the water though.

Also, having it at St James would be good for us I feel if police would allow it. Imagine a bigger crowd and a better day out than that in Carlisle

The crowd would be much bigger than that IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if that many travelled from Hartlepool to honest, over Christmas to a city full of boozers.

Also you'd have locals wanting to help out Carlisle in terms of gate receipts given what's happened. The Arena at Darlo is in the middle of nowhere and it's a rugby pitch now.

Would get well over 10000 if they did play there. All the plastic geordies would turn out in force.

It was on the radio before todays game that the home games before and afta our fixture have already been sorted.

So sounds like it will just get rearanged for a later date at Brunton Park!

Fans on there message board were saying its all our fault refusing to play the game anywhere but the Vic. I really doubt that is the case, especially after what they did to the rink end. I'd have thought it'd have something to do the police wanting a big presence and where would be appropriate for that.

10,000 in St James still wouldn't fill more than half of a couple of ends. The equivalent of having about 1,400 in the Vic.

Its closer than Carlisle, so still be a result if its played there, but the way a few people have gone on I've spoken to the last couple of days you would think they were on about switching it to Wembley.

It's one of the best football grounds in the country, one of the remaining proper grounds, it's better than the new Wembley in terms of location and atmosphere.

It would be a cracking day (apart from the football) if it did come off.

Playing at the vic with us at the away team would be weird. Has that ever been done anywhere before?

If Carlisle did that it would just show how confident they are at beating this shower. Cant see it happening their is no need for them to give us home advantage.
