The president of Mauritania reportedly ordered the country’s cup final to go to a penalty shootout in the 63rd minute – because he was getting bored with the match.
Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, who presides over Mauritania, north Africa, was present at the Super Cup match between FC Tevragh-Zeina and ACS Ksar.
But Gazzetta reports that Aziz wasn’t enjoying the fixture, and 63 minutes in, with the scores locked at 1-1, he ordered penalties to be taken.
It’s claimed he was unhappy with the tempo of the match and didn’t want to risk the fixture going to extra-time and dragging on.

If I was a tinpot dictator I'd have used this option fairly frequently over the last few seasons.

I'd definitely have stopped Pools v Sheff Wed at Cardiff after 72 minutes.

Would have happily had whole of Sheff Wed's team executed at that point. Probably humanely injected but shot if necessary. Thinking about it, I might have a few quid on Qatar for the World Cup.
