If you don't score you don't win simple as that ! we are pathetic in front of goal for yet another season.

January we need a STRIKER!!!!

I actually think we're going to miss Paynter a lot more than people think. Mandron works hard and holds the ball up well but he doesn't strike me as a goal scorer, he never really looked like scoring that one on one yesterday.

No BC we have plenty of 'strikers' - we need a proven goalscorer, have done for the past 5 years - but don't hold your breath on RM/RG delivering under Coxall any more than they did under Hodcroft's regime.

We've actually got a proven goalscorer but he's injured until the end of February. Another one in the meantime would be nice though.

I agree we need a proven goal scorer however they dont come along on free transfers.
So what we have got is Mandron who leads the line very well and as long as ronnie plays 451 to allow the midfield to attack for instance gray will score the goals provided he is used as an attacking midfielder.
This was proved on Saturday i would say the 1st half was by far our best display this season and even ronnie admits to this so hopefully he will keep this formation and the goals and performances will come.

Did Hugill and Bird not get us any goals last season then? Paynter's got 7 from 17 appearances this - not too shabby.

Nobody would disagree Pools could do with another one right now like.

As long as York dont drop Flinders then one slot is already taken.

God knock it off BC. Saturday was a vast improvement from what I've seen and the first game I've seen us use 4-5-1 and use it very very well. I'm sure if we can keep hold of the players we have in Naismith, Gray and Mandron that formation could work really really well for us with the midfield players making forward runs to play off Mandron. I have every confidence that we won't be in a big relegation battle this year.

We were barely in one last year until last few months.

Maybe we will or maybe we wont. Waht is worrying though is seem to lose when we play bad and lose when we play well. You usually find the teams at the bottom are the ones that score the fewest as well.
