Get a full season under your belt in your local area first Scott, concentrate on your footy then move to a team in a higher league. Uprooting down south after only 15 or so games in League football with a couple of injuries aint the best idea imo.

His injury record isn't great, did he not have a season out before signing?

Would be a bit gutted to lose him as he could be one of our best ever goalscorers...but then again he's not even had a full season with us so could go either way.

Would be a massive risk on his part and I'd be gutted. I think his career would develop better playing at pools for the next 2 seasons then maybe a move.

I couldn't hold a grudge against him if he did though to be fair

Anyone checked the pompey message board to see if he's touting himself there like he did to us? Or asked Luscombe.

New owners doing their best to get fans on side, can imagine them trying their hardest to keep him.

Bit of a blow if he goes, think him and Bingham would make cracking partnership.

In two minds myself. On the one hand he's exactly what I want from a centre forward - angry fucker, unsettles centre halves and has a knack of being in the right place at the right time so will probably score plenty. Because of that, he appears to be a natural goalscorer...oh yes and he's hardly lacking in confidence.

On the other hand, I've seen him miss some really good chances, ones that I'd have hoped he'd have buried and to be honest, he has only played a handful of games so he's still unproven despite the promise. he could be crap this season, I doubt it, but he could be.

If Pompey are offering over the odds for him and the money would be reinvested, then it's worth considering. That said, if there was a ready made replacement out there then Pompey would be going after them surely? (as opposed to taking a punt on Fenwick)

I reckon he's just trying to get out of the pre-season army camp by nipping to Portsmouth for a few days before telling them to shove it ;)

Ronnie wants to keep him so unless he really wants to leave or JPNG really want to sell he shouldn't be going anywhere.

I'd be very dissapointed if he left. After losing James and Baldwin the last couple of years losing another promising young player would not be good.

Pompey will walk the league this year. I don't want him to go but it would be a good move for him to be honest.

I reckon the link is probably Turner here who obviously keeps an on all things Pools. If Portsmouth don't have a striker of Fenwick's type, a poacher, I reckon Cook knows about him from speaking to Turner while he was still at Chesterfield.

On the face of it if the offer is good he's only started about 10 League games providing the money is reinvested back into the team it's probably worth considering. He's not even fit at the minute is he after getting injured last game?

This thread is the first I've heard of it.

I can just see a plausible link.

They signed Christian Burgess this week I reckon either Turner and Cook are good mates or Portsmouth have poached Peterboroughs scout!

Fenwick had a trial with Chesterfield before he came to Pools, so guess Paul Cook seen something he liked in him.

Be disappointing to see him go he looks a definite 15-20 goal a season forward.

The most important thing is he is under contract. So if he does go it should at least be a decent fee involved. It's easy to see why someone would be interested in him. A good signing by Murray scored some important goals to keep us up. The opening goal against Exeter was obviously of huge importance.

Hopefully he does stay but if he goes and we get a good fee then it has been a pretty good bit of business i guess. However if we keep him and he scores 25 goals and we get promoted. I would say that's a better bit of business.

We always talk about how goalscorers don't come cheap, lets make sure they don't go cheap either.

The fact fenwick says he can't talk about it tells me it's very true.

Just hope the money dosnt sway him because he's clearly not going to get a game there. Tbey have not been shy in the market so far and does he really want to be a bench warmer when he could be playing every week here

If the money is right then probably. Nothing in modern day football surprises many people anymore. If they offer to double his wage and he's drawn in by the "massive underachieving club" line then I'm sure he'll be off. The fact we gave him another chance at a professional career probably won't mean too much. Footballers always point to "it's a short career and I have to take my chance...". I'll be gutted if any of this is true and he does go but I won't be surprised.

Fenwick is a funny one 50/50 for me he's nickname is glass ankles.

Very injury prone.
