Anyone remember the details just having a Barny with a forest fan as I remember it pools played forest and they played the first team then went on to win the European cup

I'm sure someone will have more details but I seem to remember it was in 1977. We drew 2-2 and I am fairly sure Forest played a strong first team though I remember they had Chris Woods in goal rather than Peter Shilton.

It was 2 2 and a shitload of crowd trouble. Even on the millhouse terrace.

I am sure someone from the scene can justify why though.

Alan Goad Testimonial14 November 1977 Hartlepool United 2–2 Nottingham Forest
Burns Goal
Woodcock Goal Stadium: Victoria Park
Attendance: 4,000
Referee: P. Partridge

My memory is crowd was 3500, bit of crowd trouble when the 25 or so forest lads ( they were looking for trouble ) attempted to walk from the town end to the rink end but got smashed all over when they got to where the old mill house tunnel was. It was a full strength forest team who were top of Div 1 at the time having been promoted the season before. They went on to win the title, and euro cup season after 78/79. Goad got the equaliser I seem to remember with around 5 minutes to go.
