Get yourself there!!!

All of you!!!!

Forget what's on TV
Forget your negativity
Don't just think someone else will sort it out
Don't just think you can't make a difference for the future of OUR club
Come and listen to how and why so many other clubs have done this

Everyone on this board (almost) is on here because we love our club. On that basis make sure we give ourselves the chance to listen and decide if we think we can do something positive to ensure that OUR club stays as the heartbeat of the community it has been since 1908 and hopefully for many years to come.

It's so easy to make excuses, find other things to do, or think that you can't make a difference. I am optimistic in hearing from Supporters Direct that at other clubs the fans and community can make a difference. We can make amazing things happen if we get behind something.

Please don't make excuses, you all love this club so come along if you can and be an active part in deciding what is best for the future

As has been said anyone against the idea of a trust is a crank. Anyone publicly stating doubts now, before its even started, its a double crank, as they clearly have an agenda to disrupt.

If anyone has any doubts, attend the meeting to find out the facts. Until then shut the fuck up, and give the hard working folk a chance.

This is important, unlike a fancy dress train ride to Carlisle.

I'm at work but I hope there's a good turn out.

Is it really wise people using language like 'crank' and 'shut the fuck up?' That's not really helpful is it? Some people are naturally cautious or always guarded when it comes to change. Talk like that is hardly going to encourage people to attend, probably the opposite. That type of post is just as bad as the handful of people trying to stir shit across various forums. People with doubts need to attend then make their mind up after not insulted before they have the chance to. You are just giving the people opposed to the trust ammunition with that type of attitude.

Yet they wonder why they have alienated a lot of people. I'm not sure you could make some of this up,

Well said - I am not against the Trust, it may well prove to be a really good thing bringing club and fans closer together. My argument is that a lot of those supporting it have, on here, made it quite clear of the hatred they have for IOR, KH and RG, and would quite happily see them hanging from both crossbars., and worse!

Now these are the same guys that the Trust would need to engage with for the thing to be successful. Would you want to really speak to people who would be quite happy to see you shot! I'm not sure I would.

The same would apply to any new owners - as soon as the honeymoon would be over then the snipers and "haters" would be back again.

For it to work there has to be a trust between both parties and a willingness to work together and we seem to be a very long way away from that at the moment.

I agree that there is no need for language of that nature. People have their own opinions about this Trust. What is to be admired is the honesty of people who post openely over those that snipe about in private forums slating it and people involved in it.

Why is it a problem what people say in private about the Trust?

Good that all the usual suspects pop out and start sniping at the Trust despite my very generic positive message about the good it could do for Pools.

You couldn't make it up

The insinuations that the Trust is linked to individuals, your use of the word 'they' in your earlier post indicates that.

Anyway let's hope it is a success tonight and open minded people without ego or friendship loyalties turn up and decide what is best

I'm sure it has been communicated a number of times that many of the lads doing the leg work at the moment are purely doing so in order to get the trust off the ground and have no intention of being part of the elected board. The trust at the moment doesn't even exist, a group of supporters with a vision of setting up a trust is all we have at the moment. Let's just embrace it and go with it and see what it entails and what benefits it could bring in the future, be this with IOR or anyone else in charge of the club.

We all want the same thing, we all want pools to succeed, we all want lines of communication opened again and we all we to have the towns club back. Just put personal feelings aside and go with it.

I get where you are coming from Geoff but the ones that have been particularly vocal / anti IOR / RG / KH have also been very clear they have no desire to front the Trust, fortunately they have invested the time to try to get some momentum going.

I am unclear as to what exactly the Trust 'will bring to the table' but am very keen for the fans to have a voice and for that, I appluad all that has been done to bring tonight together.

Utter horseshit. The trust is there to protect the club. And that might mean protecting it from its owners.

And just so you know, I have nothing to do with the trust as I most definitely want both of them hanging from the cross bar. And I want to do the hanging.

Luckily the trust people are more conciliatory.

Oh and its good to hear you are not against the trust.

There again, why the fuckety fuck would you be?

Why would anyone be?

Oh hang on, its a bunker thing innit, and some peoples love for russ green means they have to state they have doubts.

They never state what those doubts are though.

I could link you to loads of anti trust stuff, as well as what we have read on here.

I wont cos they arent getting the extra publicity.

But you already know about it. You are just being chewy.

clappp Exactly right, the silliness has to stop especially in the trust related topics. How is the trust going to have any credibility if people can't express a few concerns without being ridiculed? At the same time spreading inaccurate tittle tattle before things are even up and running is also pathetic.

Hopefully the meeting tonight has been productive.....

I thought it Went very well. Very positive indeed. Having a supporters trust can only be a good thing for the club and community in general. Great work by everyone who put the work in to get this first meeting organised.

was very impressed with what Supporters Direct had to say. I simply can't see a negative to this. The best thing is, whether your pro-IOR, Anti-IOR or indifferent to them, you can have your say and have your vote to mould this Supporters Trust into something beneficial to the Club and the Community.

I'm excited at it's potential.

It was a superb constructive meeting. I was impressed with the major contributors from Hartlepool. Thank God they have vision and a clear mind regarding IOR. Jackie was very well informed and was able to provide many examples from other supporters trusts ranging in size from Man Utd who are no t very successful, Blackpool who have no dialogue not surprisingly to Chelsea Swansea and Exeter Cheltenham etc who have superb working relationships with their clubs. Great relevant questions from the floor. Thankfully No one had an inarticulate axe to grind and kept everything focussed and well structured. A unanimous vote puts HUST on a sound footing. A massive well done to all concerned. Hats Off.!!!!!

As a fan of the club I thought this was a fantastic night for the future of Hartlepool United, was well attended and as said previously a lot of passionate people turned up and showed they wanted a supporters trust for the club. I thought it was very important that the working committee did not state that they wanted IOR gone (even though that would be the best scenario all round) to give it the best possible chance of working with the club.

Just want to thank the working committee and Jacqui for all there hard work which made it possible.

Well I was in two minds about the trust, in my mind I had plenty of reasons I thought it would work and be a great idea and also a couple of niggles that it might not. I was more for than against though and was even going to come along to the meeting but after some of the comments on this thread yous can shove it. Any wonder people aren't getting involved with some of the condescending, patronising stuff put on this, and other earlier threads? Good luck though, obviously a few hardworking volunteers are giving all their time and efforts into this. Shame the odd nameless "crank" is probably doing you more harm than good.

Mick thats a crock of shit and you know it. The whole point In all of this is to have something in place to try and improve communications between the club and it's fans.

That lack of communication is the very reason you dont go to Pools any more.

The Trust will also be there in case IOR leave and no other buyer is forthcoming. It's a safety net that might save Hartlepool United one day.

One member, one vote. No one has been voted into the Trust yet people are saying they want no part if certain people are involved. But if YOU are involved then you'll be able to have a voice and be able to argue your point.

People posting on a messageboard that aren't involved, would put you off supporting the Trust?

Yeah pretty much. As the Trust wasn't formed until the Vote last night, we won't have been "recognised". I'd have liked to have seen the club get involved earlier but I understand their stance. I suppose to them last night was an "internal" meeting.

Fair enough, I guess it wouldn't have harmed if someone was there even in a observation capacity.

Strangely, I take comfort that we have signed the likes Nelson-Addy, Fenwick and Harrison on contracts beyond this season and so clearly! we are planning for next season.
