That would really take the shine of last week. Though it does sound like Scunny are at their FFP limit and would need to offload before he returns. Hopefully they win tomorrow night to give them more of a safety gap.

Not wanting to sound over the top but this decision from Mark Robins could be THE single biggest factor in terms of our surivival in the football league.

Lets all email him and plead with him not to take him back.

If they need to offload first, do they not have a decent striker they could borrow us in return?

It's a shitty situation when we are hoping clubs dont recall the 54 players we have on loan from all over the league.

We are living on handouts, we're like the homeless team of the football league expecting free meals from the foodbank every day.

I hope to god we're not like this next season.

Didn't see this coming.

Let's hope Scunthorpe's results improve.

Looks like I'll be looking for their result now as well as Cheltenham, Tranmere, York and Carlisle.

Good job Reading aren't in our league.

It's not easy being a Pools supporter ha ha.

Worst case scenario for Saturday?

Flinders;

Austin, Harrison, Jones, Duckworth;

Featherstone,
Tshibola, Walker

Franks, Morgan, Smith

Defence...

Collins to CB?
Nearney to CB?
Austin to CB, Richards to RWB?
Austin to CB, Duckworth to RWB, Holden to LWB?
Other?

Attack (until Fenwick fit)...

Harewood CF?
Morgan CF?
Smith CF?
Jordan Jones CF and Compton LM?
Franks CF with Jones RM and Compton LM?
Other?

Change the system?

He scrapped the 3 at the back after about 10 mins on Saturday and went 4-2-3-1 so im pretty sure we would go back to 4 at the back which would be:

Ducky
Jones
Harrison
Austin

Featherstone
Tshibola

? Walker Jones
?

Franks will unfortunatly fill one of the ? but cant imagine him doing it on his own uptop, likewise Smith. At the moment sadly it would have to be Harewood I think as Morgan looks well and truley out of Moores plans.

We are doing well at the moment because we haven't played 442 i think if we go back to 442 we will find ourselves back to square one.
Lets just hope Mirfin doesn't go back if he does play austin or Sam to make up the back 5 and replace Bird shame about Chopra he signed for Alloa last week might have been usefull

You would like to think Morgan has more to offer than Harewood in terms of mobility. Seems bizarre Moore signed him on the basis of seeing him play but almost immediately sacked him off ?

I agree but at least he doesnt feel he has to continually play him after bringing him in like some managers would.

That's always the thing with loanees, play well and their parent club wants them to warm the bench or needs them as injuries have took hold etc. Hope Mirfin gets a choice and tells Scunny he wants to remain at Pools as he's playing week in week out.

Unbelievable bad luck for Pools and Ronnie Moore - notwithstanding the serious injuries to our own key players i.e. Woods and Fenwick, who would have thought that the likes of Mansfield, Cambridge and now Scunny would eventually end up struggling in their respective divisions and having to recall 'fringe' players in an attempt to dig themselves out of the proverbial? However, we will now see in the next few days just how committed Ken Hodcroft is to keeping the club in the Football League. If, as seems likely Mirfin follows Bird out of the club then we will need to recruit TWO quality players in order to strengthen the spine of the team and thus keep the current momentum going. Lets not kid ourselves, no-one available for selection from the current playing staff is man enough to step up to the plate - and even if they were we would still require cover for the remaining crucial eight games.

Got to presume Morgan is doing fuck all in training - Moore said something a week or two ago to the effect that he wasn't performing like the player he'd seen at Plymouth. If he's showing less than Harewood that really is scary.

Judging from recent loan signings like Mirfin and Bird there's no reason to suppose Hodcroft won't stump up the cash if Ronnie can manage to pull a few more rabbits out of the hat - though he must be on about page 300 of his little black book of possibles by now!

I reckon this is a case of Moore getting a big favour off a mate in Mark Robins.

Brilliant news though, massive in fact.

Hmm monitoring it game by game he says so he could still be recalled any time. Lets hope they beat Sheff United tonight at Bramall Lane.

I might actually stick some money on Sheff U as they never win when I back them.

And while Robins is being generous, see if he has a striker we can have?

Scunthorpe fans on their forums reckon Mirfin is the best centre half at the club. After tonight's result and the pressure Robins is under I reckon 1 point off the relegation spots is all it will take for a recall.

Better to happen now than when the loan window shuts on Thursday, least we got a small chance to get someone in.

We have still got Sam Collins he has the experience he could just slot in the middle of Harrison and Jones for the last eight games if Mirfin does go back which probably now looks a stone waller.
Let ronnie just concentrate on getting us a decent Striker

Was the scunny defenders red card for violent conduct or anything?

Not officially but he clearly doesn't want to or doesn't think he is up to playing. He was struggling earlier in the season a 3 month sabbatical won't of done him much good. Hardly the answer!

Sheff Utd got a pen straight after so assume it was in the penalty incident.

I looked at this about 6 hours ago and the article has completely changed. Earlier it had the manager down saying they can't possibly afford to have him back because of financial constraints

I heard somebody was sent off in the 83rd minute, not sure of the final score though.

I'd be surprised if we recalled him. He is our best centre back by a country mile BUT Robins is stubborn and will not bring him back. He won't like to admit he has made the wrong decision even though we are crying out for his determination and passion!
Glad he is doing the business for you. He's a real nice guy too.
Hope you stay up! I think we may be seeing you next season.

i'd like us to sign Mirfin saw him playing for scunny ressies earlier in the year, I can conclude he doesn't feature in Mark Robin's plans if we are in the league next year make him the first signing.
