anyone have any idea if we are reducing ticket prices for the 2 home games this week, to pull a few more fans in for 2 crucial games

Ask mark Simpson he's still signed in

Remember ken allegedly text him in an attempt to get the fans onside.

2 games for £20 would back up that it was actually kens text

Time for Green n Hodcroft to get there act together on these extortion matchday prices.
Drop the prices to a tenner for the rest of the season and get 4 to 5000 in.

£25 in no one goes.

£10 in x last 8 games = roughly an extra 100k in revenue for the club.
More than enough to get some quality loan players in.

A few injuries in the squad like last night and we down to the bare bones

Hodcroft n Green taken a massive gamble on our league status doing everything doing everthing on the cheap it just dosent add up when u lose 750k for going down..

Even if we pull off the great escape these two cranks leaving the club has to be priority.

You would think so wouldn't you. It just makes sense on every single level to reduce the prices. Which is probably why it won't happen!

There was no mention of getting the fans on side from what people have said. Just that he would explain all this debacle in greater detail in his programme notes

The thing is reducing the home prices means reducing the away tickets and therefore lose out on guaranteed revenue as away fans always travel, although numbers may be smaller due to higher price.

There isn't enough interest in the town to say reducing to £10/£15 would guarantee the extra money when take out reduced revenue from away fans

Surely we can reduce the standing prices to a tenner?

Yeh imagine that would be fine as its something to do with equivalent view or something for away fans which they don't have standing.

Imagine people in seating wouldn't be best pleased though in that scenario

Charging £10 will mean say 300 away fans brining £4,500 less (based on adult only) via ticket revenue. Means we have to be guaranteed an extra 300 fans to make sure we break even essentially.

Arguably we get more than that but also we sold how many season tickets and still get crowds lower than that number which shows ultimately the interest is not there in the town

Stevenage won't bring 300 away fans, I'm sure cheaper entry will add at least a couple of hundred more to the crowd. It's not just about the money, more noise and a better atmosphere will help the team surely?

got to reduce prices surely, its a no brainer, get a decent crowd for our remaning home games, create a good atmosphere, we'll await an announcement from the club on this, its not as if the away following is that great, even for teams doing well, come on Russ and Ken make a decision on this please.

when the owners (yes, IOR) make noise about finances, I'm sure they take the more money over better noise and crowd atmosphere.

These people who don't want to pay £25, but will go when cheaper are really going to offer that much more atmosphere?

I agree we should be trying to, but there simply is no interest in the team in the town at all. How many people who have season tickets that don't get used regularly.

It seemed to work pretty well for the Morecambe game. Loads of exiles like meself can justify the travel if it's only a tenner in.

I'd pay it, probably up to £13 is reasonable value for me once I add the tenner on for petrol I will be using.

Its also Valentines Day whether like it or not will probably have a small effect (especially with away fans) on how many can justify to their other halves on deserting them for the day and spending £25 entry fee.

I've always thought a pay scale of how well the team is doing in the league is the best way. £10 if near the bottom half. £15 for mid table area and anywhere playoff area and above £20. Piece of piss this owning a club business.

More people in the ground also means more chance on sales of food and drink, programmes etc.

Whilst on the subject of food and drink, I can always remember when I was young my Dad would tell me that pools had the best pies in all of the football league (there was a vote and everything!).

Also, I feel like the price of a pint goes up every time I go as well. Mind, it still doesn't stop me sinking a few bbolt

Aye early 90's - some footy magazine - 442 or something

Pools were supplied by Parkers Pies - they were along Stockton road somewhere and had a sign in their window celebrating the fact.

Good times then.

I normally call in the Raglan for a pint before each match, Tuesday I had one behind the Millhouse stand, £3.00 and half of it went in the bin, it was crap, I won,t be doing it again.

Talking about pies u cudent beat morrels pork pies fulla juice about twenty years ago.

These days if u near the bakers in chatham road check out the meat n potato pies gorgeous they got a touch of pepper in to add to the flavour.

Back to the ticket offers looks like we seeing the season out with 3000 crowds unless the club comes to there senses which normally dosent happen.

the catering is absolutely shocking, they always run out of food, not by selling loads they just don't put enough out, they also always run out of hot water so stand waiting for drink , 2nd division club 2nd class standards.

Who ever the new owners are they got to sort out the commercial side of the club out.
You would of thought sorting out the catering would be an easy task.
Just goes to show how out of touch the owners are with the fans(customers) when they cant be bothered to sort out something as basic as catering.

Three home wins in a row dosent change anything of the pitch for me its got to be green n hodcroft out.Its down to them two that ronnies having to pull us out of the shit.

thats a silly response 20% of club revenue is taking in catering, may be if you spent a couple of quid at the till It may give us more to spend on the squad

I gave up trying to get something to eat at Pools about three years ago. Three games in a row I went to get a burger or a hot dog, each time they'd ran out of either buns or burgers, twice I'd gone five minutes before half time!

Pathetic!

I do spend money at the till. However I understand that hot water needs to be heated and may involve a short wait if it has run out.

I also understand food needs to be cooked and again may involve a small wait. I would rather it was cooked rather than undercooked and also understand that they wont want to cook too much as it may go to waste and effect the 20% you talk about.

Volkes Pies from York are mouth wateringly luscious and are reasonably priced, it is the easy option buying Pukka pies because they are frozen, you don`t have to think about how many you need to order every week, same as turning the boilers on earlier to ensure the water is boiling for when the poor saps who get there early and they end up with a lukewarm bovril! banghead
