Our current owners I'd imagine. Who has Russ told you they are this week Bob?

Apparently when you're an amateur sports club you get tax relief, probably that.

Put it this way, Featherstone and Harrison were already earning, Morgan will replace Bingham... there's only Mirfin new and I doubt we'll be paying much of his wages.

Here's a counter question Bob, where's the Baldwin and James money gone?

Its a rhetorical question. Point is whether it Posh money it has been released. Though I would like to know who actually said it could be used. IOR/ TMH just who exactly. I haven't got the answer to that Yloop just like you haven't. Harrison may have been earning but wasn't it undisclosed fee. So there's money released from somewhere.

Surely the instalments from those transfers will be used to keep us running until the end of the season. The extra ticket sales over Christmas probably pay for Mirfin. That or we're 14.1 million pounds in debt

Your all making your answers fit the rumours, Harrison has committed to a permanent deal, probably longer than until the end of the season, which shows commitment on his part and on whoever sanctioned the fee and contract.

That scenario doesn't really fit (unless someone thinks it will be easier to sell a div two club than a conference one).

You may well be right but why pay would IOR pay a fee now when they haven't paid a fee for years. Perhaps to sell Harrison on at a profit? This ( on top of all the other stuff) just doesn't add up to me.

It seems at least on paper we have a better squad now than at the end of December, and if Bingham hadn't gone back an even better one, a better manager than at any time since Danny Wilson left and a motivated team at last. Things have improved in the last month or so. If the improvement is purely from IOR why wait until now ffs?

Can't imagine we'll have paid anything for him. I was told he was going to be released so if anything I'd assume Sunderland would probably just put a clause in the contract that gives them an option on him.

We'll never know anyway, no point speculating over it. Great signing that's all that matters.

I was trying to apply business logic to where perhaps there is none. Certainly when you operate in an information vacuum there is a tendency to speculate, rightly or wrongly, and in this case who knows. I guess in the fullness of time it will become clear, damn frustrating in the meantime though.

What was the offer Bob?

Some of us don't frequent that particular board.

RM said this about Harrison in his deadline day blog:

"He’s the type of player we want at the Football Club; there is still room for development of course but I am pleased he’s agreed. He wasn’t particularly worried about the situation and if the worst happens then he’s happy to say and fight to put things right – that’s really pleasing for me.

I think Scott has grown in to the squad and I certainly think he has a bit of captain’s material in him one day and I would love him to wear the armband here one day."

From that I infer Scott H was given a proper contract (the IOR standard 2 years + 1 year optional?) and that Ronnie is already thinking positively past the end of this season in terms of his own involvement with Pools.

Hopefully neither of them are daft and have some reason to believe that the club does have a future.

Harrison will be safe if we go down anyway, another team will come in for him and Pools will take the money. Ken would have been rubbing his grubby hands with that one.
