At present there are 12 board members and well over 200 guests viewing The Bunker.

Presumably they are viewing it because they have some connection to the club.

The vast majority of posts on here are made by a small group of "regulars" - about a dozen or so.

It would be really good to hear the thoughts of those who do not post regularly ....... possibly at the risk of being "shot down" by the regulars. It would also be good to hear something from the guests who are browsing but not posting.

Lets try and get some real debate going, without the fear of being ridiculed, called names, etc etc. If we all care about the club we need to get as many people to become involved as possible.

I probably flag up more as a guest than a regular poster (I usually only log in if I feel the need to comment) - mainly due to checking in to see what the latest grumbles are about Pools

Realistically, although a Pools fan for 25 years - if they are going to the wall then it'll almost certainly be the end for me and any reincarnation of the club - living away from the town and having 2 young uns, I really lack the time to support a fan owned club in the manner it will need - hats of to those Darlo fans who have fought to make it work.

Having said that - I have got a little bit of money I would be willing to donate if it helped others move Pools towards a fan owned entity - and if it did happen then I would still keep an eye out and catch a game as and when (it just wouldn't be a regular thing).

Well, I rarely post and being a chunk of distance away rarely see Pools anymore co cant comment on performances. The Bunker is vital for keeping a connection for expats and hats off to Mr I for keeping it going. Pools are my club and watching the utter fucking of them by Green and the rest boils my piss. I would like info and clarity, I would really really like an investigative journo from a quality paper - Grauniad possibly - dig through all the shite and name and shame. I feel sorry for the staff at the club and all the regular supporters - this is an appalling way to treat staff and customers alike.
There seems to be an element of blinkered positivity that borders on the insane with some posters. IF I was in Pools right now I'd be up for ANY protest - whoever the fuck owns Pools now needs see and hear that fucking a club over like Pools cant be done without consequences.

Yeah more a reader than a poster, and living daan Saaf rarely get to watch pools at home, so don't feel I can't comment on a awful lot. Although the 4 games I have seen (3 away, 1 home) they have been utterly awful

I read the bunker most days but rarely post. Live in the Lincoln now so I rely on it to keep me up to date with all things Pools. I really great for the future of the football club I love and it makes me angry that someone could come in and destroy it and walk away. But what angers me and annoys me is the inability of Pools fans to band together and do something about it. A lot of people seem only to be interested in sorting down other people's ideas than getting behind something, often without providing an idea of their own. It also disappoints me that people are so quick to not just disagree with others but to add abuse and insult to it as well. Howay folks, we have more power than you think but we have to be together on this.

Same here folks - don't make the games but read this forum three or four times a week to catch up on news. I don't bother logging in because I don't feel I'm qualified to make statements about players and games I don't see. Interesting though that there's loads of people signed in below but still 233 guests (bots?)

Good to hear the views of some other board members for a change. Everyone is entitled to an opinion as much as anyone else. And there must be lots of views on the current situation at Victoria Park.

So how come there are 98 guests right now if you have to log in? Or do guests also count when they're waiting at the door?

I normally just browse as well but have took the plunge and signed up. I only get wound up by the odd fascist on here (no names!), football wise it is usually spot on. Sent the following e-mail to Pools on Friday:

"I have been a supporter of `Pools since January 1967
when (at the age of 12) I attended the first floodlit match at The
Victoria Ground. The 2-1 defeat to Southend United was a portent of
what 48 years of supporting a Football Club, usually welded to the
bottom of the bottom division, would be like. Often during this period
I have had the feeling that I might be watching the team in action for
the very last time, but I never felt as bad as I do about the current
situation.
I am grateful that IOR and Ken Hodcroft provided the most
successful years in the clubs turgid history but it was obvious that
they lost interest a long time ago, so I felt optimistic that the
takeover by TMH would re-ignite a club that was going down the toilet
rapidly. It appears that optimism was misplaced and our few remaining
chances of staying a League Club have slipped away. The silence from
the club since the "takeover" has been at it's usual KGB-like level and
I now fear I am witnessing the final death throes of this stubborn
little Football Club.
Like many (all?) of the supporters I would like
some information on what is being done to prevent the above scenario,
like many supporters I do not expect a reply.
So the reason for this,
apparently, futile e-mail is really to say to myself that I did try to
give the past/present/future owners of Hartlepool United a chance to
explain themselves."

Please find it in your hearts to forgive me for a FetishBob-like first post.
I'll fuck myself off. Thank you.

160 new members - pretty impressive.

Assuming they have been regular readers it would still be interesting to get them to post their thoughts on the current situation.

They may be aware that certain posters tend to dominate the board, and that the official welcome is usually none too polite. However assuming they are fans of HUFC their views are as important as anyone else's on here.

So come on, let's be hearing from you - even if its only one post. rolf rolf

As a younger fan, I probably haven't known much other than the relatively successful years (successful for Pools terms at least). Therefore since our final season in league 1, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. As I am sure for many others, there is blame attached all over the shop from people who are still involved with the club to those who have been and gone.

However, going around in circles on a forum won't aid any sort of improvement. Yes voice opinions and yes voice sheer discontent/ disgust at events. Personal attacks however are not the way forward in my opinion, and unfortunately I feel sometimes the attacks do become personal on here, whether it be towards other forum users or people at the club (we all know the names so no need to mention them). Attach blame to people by all means, but there should be more rational reasoning and solutions to the problems. If I get stick I get stick here but I can't believe that people can be so negative all of the time. I consider myself a pretty pessimistic guy but I still wake up every Saturday (or any other match day) with the hope Pools can win, maybe not expectation but the hope of picking up 3 points, so to see people who seemingly write us off in predictions every week really irritates me.

This season hasn't been as expected and some players aren't good enough/ bothered enough/ both and we haven't brought in the players we maybe could have expected at the beginning of January, but the three loan lads have really improved the side in Bingham, Tshibola and Harrison. Its a shame we couldn't sign any of them permanently of course it is, but if we can make a couple extra signings tomorrow, players who actually want to come and do a job and perform and not flap their arms around and expect everyone else to do it then great. If we have to live with what we have, I think recent performances have shown we can at least compete. But don't want or need players to come just because they have a reputation. We've had plenty of players who have come in with that tag and flopped, but I think with RM's experience and knowledge of the lower league game, he can give us at least a chink of light at the end of the tunnel.

A forum should be open to discussion and whilst we may not agree with everything everyone says, I feel a more open-minded approach could be made rather than just shooting each other down at the first sight of disharmony.

Anyways, first post, could be the last. I think the fan support we took to Tranmere shows just how much people do care about the club. It's a long way back this season but whether we stay up or go down, i'd like to think we can end this second half of the season with some sort of positive feeling around the club in hope for the following season. Here's to hoping. Win, lose or draw, always a poolie

Welcome to the board - I'm sure the official greeting might not be far behind.

I used to have rose tinted specs as well, trouble is when you have been watching Pools as long as me they tend to change colour slightly.

Still good to hear the sensible views of a younger fan. :character-smurfguy:

It's nice to see different opinion on the board.

E-mails to the club are pretty pointless in my opinion. The media manager will have his hands full with the usual day to day stuff. He may have an obligation to forward it to whomever is deemed 'in charge' of the club but to be honest if the rumours are correct about there being a shit storm currently at the club I can't see there being anything done with it. I suspect such emails simply sit in an in-tray, unless it would potentially make the club a bit of money i.e commercially related. It would be a pleasent surprise if it did get a reply and I hope it does.

I think right about now is the first time I have truthfully felt fear for our club's future. Even in the dark days of the Gibson era and the winding up orders it never really felt like we'd have the rug pulled from under us and I'm not sure why that was. Maybe it was because I was a daft kid and I'm a lot older now. The scariest thing is the complete silence from the club.

That and the fact Russ Green is in charge. Not so much Jordan Belfort as Jonathan Schwartz.

My argument doesn't lie with whether posts are right or wrong, valuable or worthless. However, if people aren't willing to be chastised for having a difference of opinion, people won't post anything. I'm all for a debate and a discussion but it has to be done correctly.
As you say message boards are designed for debate and voicing opinions and far from me to say everything posted by everybody is wrong. It isn't. Just sometimes there may be a better way of disagreeing.
Still, one more day of a transfer window to go, let's see what we can do with it.

The Bunker is full of well reasoned debates but sometimes it can be hard to do when it involves certain members who are so far up the clubs arse and certain employees of the club. All we can do is focus on what's going on on the pitch and Ronnie seems to be doing a decent job. The 3 lads he has brought in have been superb, he seems to be doing wonders with the likes of Fenwick and Jones. It's such a shame to see us rock bottom but that is solely down to appalling decision making at board level and lack of investment, or if there has been investment it's been poor (Howard and Parnaby for example). Something HAS to be said tomorrow with it being the last day of the transfer window, it's almost nailed on that TMH have failed the fit and proper test and that isn't based on "roumers".

The only nit I can pick with your discourse, Mr Specs, is that you might be imagining the match predictions to be more serious than people actually intend. Or maybe not since I haven't got my mind-reader's badge yet.

I was deadly serious, I was certain we'd draw 10-10 at tranmere and we'd only take 4 fans

And I predicting that Ronnie has got them lined up but won't be able to sign them. I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm going to predict a step below that and take a wild guess that one of them was born in Cameroon.
