Ronnie continues to have difficulties getting anybody in before Saturday - what team would you play?!

For me..scary Thought though it is, it would have to be...

Flinders

richards bates jones Holden

Featherstone Hawkins woods

Franks Fenwick Compton

And I would go for a 5-0 defeat!!

Could be first thrashing of the season, 5 or 6 nil, surely it cant be a 10/1 coupon buster, Wycombe players would have to have been on the p*ss until 4 in the morning to get beat of our lot.
Flinders
Duckworth Bates Jones Austin
Franks Featherstone Woods Holden
Walker
Fenwick

Fookin ell ! Its painful typing out that team

Attacking threat nil but not enough quality staff in the building.

I would given Green a game what have you to lose, but I am not the manager !

I'd just play the youth team to humiliate the alleged first team. They can't do any worse because we're getting thrashed at Wycombe anyway.

You're right, good players are still making the same decisions to selfishly put their own careers ahead of the chance to save our place in the league.

as hodcroft was at the first game after the takeover - plus we have a ' H' in 'tmh' ..maybe he isn't as far away from the club as we would hope!!

Serious question like, but what ever happened to the fit and proper persons test or is that still on-going? Havent heard out since? Not that I expect to read their diary, but most owners announce once they've passed it etc.

Reg Brealey took over Darlo and asset stripped them, then when the heat came onto him he "sold" the club to a bloke called Mike Peden. Then it transpired that Peden was a front for Brealey who was still in the background

I will believe the new owners are genuine when things change

All we hear are rumours and bollocks which comes from Pools, and spread around on message boards etc.... Then nothing happens.... Then things stay the same..... Is anyone else not concerned even slightly?

How the fuck is Russ Green still at the club for starters? He should have been the first out the door

I'm assuming that given the current predicament, the club would be averse to pulling in recruits on long term deals and that any seasoned professional with options would, anyway, be very reluctant to sign. Would it, therefore, be safe to assume that we have 5 (?) loan signings and possibly a couple of short term contracts to issue? Given this, we know that the manager's task is a tough one: select the right people from a diminished pool of talent and persuade the new owners that these people would help, hope that no one else wants to give them an opportunity, persuade the substantive employers of loanees that a few months in Hartlepool will add to their footballing education or place them in a shop window and convince unattached recruits that playing for the league's bottom placed club will restore or enhance their professional repute. Then there's the matter of integrating new personnel and creating a team that makes the best use of the skills available.

We have a new manager and new owners and with relegation about 95% certain the focus of the majority of our new signings should not be short term. If we can get loan players of the ilk of Micheal Brown or Luke Williams who are way better than this level then great but other than that the focus should be on building a better team long term. Flush out the shite and bad eggs and actually build a TEAM. I'm sorry but we were told these new owners were backing the manager with decent money, if we see another flood of loans and short term deals I reckon people are going to feel seriously fobbed off and seriously doubtful about the owners long term vision it's all well and good and very easy to say the right things, the proof in the pudding will become very clear in the next couple of weeks.

95% is a bit strong. Five good players in could turn things around. Say we got three wins on the bounce, we'd be within touching distance.

Maybe I am paranoid, but let's face it, it is not without good cause for concern. Only actual arrival of players is going to be good enough. If players don't come, it isn't necessarily entirely due to league position. otherwise Northampton would not be still in the league, as of their situation just 12 months ago. If you sell the club, whether it is for staying up or for an attack on promotion from the conference next season, and the money is on offer, players will come. It all depends on exactly how hard the club is trying. Big massive fact

It will take a few weeks to find out if the takeover is dodgy.
All we can do is wait n hope.

As for the current team flinders needs dropping.
Then a mass clearout in may including collins n pears.

52 points will normally guarantee safety at this level, we have 14 with 23 games left. We need to produce top six form from now until the end of the season to give ourselves a chance and even if we get these players in it's a tall order. The players will need time to gel as well remember. With every passing defeat our task is getting closer to two points a game required (title form) 95% isn't strong, sadly it's realistic.

We have no choice! Time to start believing and hoping it rubs off on the players. The names now being linked have instilled some realism regarding the new owners. We're not going to be spending much on new players but anything is more than we're were getting off IOR. With signings will come hope.

I have it on good authority that Scotty Harrison will be playing center back with Jones and Bates as a holding midfielder. I'm happy with that atm. Bates has more balls than Featherston for me (we've all seen them) he's been on good form lately too.
