Do we just play them as we use their ground for reserve games? Playing a team who conceded 207 goals last season in the northern league seems a bit pointless! Surely a team like spennymoor would have been a better test!

I don't think it matters who the opposition is early doors. But in 2002/03, we won two friendlies in Holland 12-0 and went on to win promotion. I'll settle for that again. Players getting used to scoring and winning games easy....lol

Surely just an 11v11 run out, try some ideas, give players a bit of a game and avoid injuries.

We should have played Darlington 1883, guaranteed double figure win and confidence booster

Would you have left the leafy suburbs of Hampshire to witness such an event or are you in a secure wing now?

Nowt wrong with helping non league neighbours out. Think a confidence boosting 9-0 win is right way to start pre season, then gradually step up. We are playing equivalent of Spenny in Bradford PA on Saturday so will be bigger test, should win 3 or 4 nil though
